I don't understand why TA's rating for this restaurant is so low. I found the cuisine interersting, the products fine, and the service competent. In my view, it rates much higher than many of those in the upper tiers.

The neighbourhood around the rue Daguerre has a number of good restaurants. This seems to be a relatively new addition - or I've missed it on previous trips. I'm glad to have discovered it, it's a very useful addition. The restaurant is decorated in a contemporary urban style, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The service was attentive and professional, but I... More

As we think Bib Gourmand is a good and reliable institute within the Michelin guide, we were surprised of such a lack of professinality. We had to wait half an hour before being served even an aperitif, and when ordering the steak was already sold out. The cheese also, but with the comment that 'this happens in France'. So we... From the amazing amuse bouche to the perfect ending desserts each course was creative, uniquely flavorful and artfully presented. The restaurant also has a very nice list of unique wines. A memorable meal.

Having heard L'Entetee praised again and again, my friend decided to book it for her birthday dinner last year. Unfortunately, she was called the morning of to be told that the chef was ill and wouldn't be cooking that night. Disappointed but understanding, we made other, last minute plans. So this year, we were thrilled to again grab a reservation... More

Highly recommended for originality, price and lack of pretensiousness.

Before this we said we never had a bad meal in Paris, but no more. Of the four of us 3 ordered the cod and one the beef steak. The cod had the skin on and was so fishy tasting none of us finished it. Cod should never be fishy! One had the steak and it was so chewy and... More

This petit stylish restaurant is run by a young French chef who is at the top of her game. We had a chestnut pumpkin soup for appetiser and perfect Coquilles St. Jacques with pureed sweet potatoes in a red wine reduction for our plats. The two course fixed menu was 25 euros. Add a dessert course for 5 euros and... More

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
