Relying entirely on history. The food is inedible and overpriced. Go across the street to La Coupole. Lots of history - great food

Visited here on our first evening, as we wanted to eat early, before our night tour. Efficient service. We were asked if we were going to a show afterwards, I suppose so we could be served quickly. We were served quickly anyway, as I suppose...they meant to free up the tables. Tables were at an acceptable distance (unlike La Rotonde, where we left before eating, due to being cheek by jowl). Our meal arrived quickly. I had scallops with gnocchi and my husband had lamb chops. My meal was steaming and made me wonder if it had been quickly reheated. The scallops were ok, but the dish was pretty bland overall. My husband enjoyed the chops. We had tart to finish, which was ok. 50cl of red wine cost €24.50. Mains were pricy, which we thought was typical for Paris. Overall, an ok meal.More

Perfect example of the wonderful and slightly less wonderful aspects of the Parisian café experience. We stopped for breakfast on a chilly morning. Our bread, butter, jam, and coffee choices were well prepared and presented by slightly-starchy but courteous servers who were a bit challenging...to flag down at check time. And I would expect nothing less - staff at the traditional cafés adhere to a standard of “formal efficiency” without small talk and I kind of love them for it.More

We were recently brought to Le Select for dinner with Parisian friends and we had a wonderful dinner! The service was attentive, the food and wine were excellent! My daughter and I had the scallops and they were her favorite meal in Paris! Will definitely...return!More

Over a couple of vists I have had poor food and now awful coffee. The place looks good and the welcome is warm, but quality is poor.

This was right around the corner from where we were staying. We met a friend for dinner here. The food was fine. Our waiter was not very friendly though, which was disappointing. Worth the visit though, for the historical significance.

Great spot for a late night dessert and cafe, which consisted of creme brûlée, espresso and cafe creme. The service was attentive and the liveliness of the cafe was exactly what we were looking for.

We had a very delicious meal in a very pleasant atmosphere in spite of Covid19 regulations. We felt safe and well looked after. The service was perfect and very nice, the food was fresh, delicious, flavourful and apealingly arranged.

Every morning for ten days I sat early in le Select, enjoying a croissant and cafe au lait. The service was prompt and friendly, and my food perfect. Every morning the cafe played 1930s Jazz, so I was sitting in Paris, watching people pass by,...listening to Basie with Pres, Django Reinhardt, and Decca-era Louis Armstrong. IN LE SELECT, LIFE IS PERFECT.More

I went here 3 times. The service was always friendly and attentive. They made it easy for those who spoke little French as they also offered a version of their menu in English. The Onion Soup and Duck Confit were outstanding and my wife fell...in love with the Chocolat Chaud, thus the reason we went back 3 times....More
