We ate lunch here twice. The set menu is excellent value with plenty of choice, and the food is tasty, well-prepared and well-presented. A friendly welcome on both occasions.

I enjoyed this restaurant so much I returned the next evening. It is good, honest food, with a waiter who made the experience even better with his attention and service. The second night was busier than the first, but this did not stop him form providing me with that touch of personal attention that is not very common elsewhere. The... More

This place is a little more expensive than the surrounding Greek, pizza, and Chinese places but well worth a try. I particularly like the cassoulet (white beans in a crock with chunks of bacon, sausage, duck, and chicken. Order it with the mussels starter (shelled and brought to you baked in olive oil and butter. This is a meal you... More

My husband has been coming here since 1996 while I came for the first time in 2000. We always make a stop here while in town. Last evening I had the goat cheese salad and roasted chicken. Delish! He had the duck. Also delish. Reasonably priced as well.

We decided to eat there because it was late at night and it was almost across from our hotel. We were not disappointed. We each selected the menu. We started with the escargots, and then my husband selected the duck confit and I selected the Toulouse sausage. My husband thought that his duck was a bit too greasy, but I... More

Cozy restaurant with good service. The food was okay, but not more than so. We had a menu of two dishes for 12 euros. We had snails for starters and for main corse, Lambback for me and buef borgion for my boyfriend. Starters great, main corse was not so impressive.

In the middle of a large number of somewhat oppressive restaurants (walking through then can feel like you're being hustled), La Cochonaille stands out for good food and a real French experience. The waiter who served us was full of respect - not surprising for a restaurant which is celebrating 50 years' of service. We were buying chocolate next door... More

The good is the same where ever you eat but locals and tourists don't seem to mix. The atmosphere is better downstairs. Food is good. Onion soup a must! The menu du jour is good and can be mixed with other items. Good wine.

We come here every time we are in Paris and are never disappointed. The l'escargot were delicious as was my egg mayonnaise and the pork (speciality of the house) was lovely and meltingly tender. Looking forward to our next visit

Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.
