In the area for a movie a friend suggested Koetsu for lunch. Although I have been in Paris for many years, I had not known of this wonderful Japanese restaurant. Now it will be my only Japanese restaurant - because it is the best! The decor is comfortable, modern and without cliché. This is a small restaurant so do make... More

We came to Rue Sainte Anne as we wanted to have an authentic Japanese dinner but there were lines everywhere. We didn't want to wait and went in here. We had sashimi as a starter and shabu shabu afterwards. The shabu shabu had a lot of noodles. Taste was just ok. The sashimi was slso just ok. I am sure... More

I've been going to this place for years. It is definitely a cut above the slightly cheaper Japanese eateries that line up rue Saint-Anne. The rice is definitely the fine Japanese rice you eat in Japan, and the sushi and sashimi are very fresh and well cut. The ground floor area is nice, while I wouldn't go upstairs, which is... More

The rue Sainte Anne has plenty of small Japanese restaurant and Koetsu is probably the best. Nicely decorated, clean, friendly service and excellent food. Also, the prices are more than justified.

The sushi and sake there was absolutely excellent, and the restaurant was very serene and had a tranquil atmosphere. I also recommend the skewers, one was cheese wrapped in beef!!! The only catch is that it is a tiny bit expensive

Went with my friends from Paris and was not disappointed! After searching both the 5th and 6th Arrondissement for many years and always being disappointed. Koetsu met my expectations for a Japanese Restaurant in France. Up until this discovery, the only decent Japanese Restaurant I found was in Toulouse.

Very nice place, I had a very good miso soup and a wonderful plate of sashimi, followed by an amazing portion of mango fruit. Raw fish was good and really fresh. Really amazing.

Nothing original, but sushis and sashimis are the best I know at this price. Suitable for business lunch or uninformal, rather fast dinner. Open till rather late for a paris restaurant.

The rue Sainte-Anne is the street to go if you're craving for some Japanese treats in Paris. Then, all restaurants serve approximately the same food, at affordable rates and at all levels of quality. Koetsu is one among others, but I would say the quality of the dishes is a bit higher than the average offer. The raw fishes are... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
