We stopped in for a late supper away from some of the bustle in the Marais. Simple food well prepared, good wine list, helpful service. Not fancy, but fine value for money and great location.

We came here our first day in Paris after a redeye flight. I ordered the pasta in truffle sauce and it was amazing! It was a great way to start our Paris vacation! I recommend this spot if you are in the area.

We just walked in here on a freezing Friday afternoon and found ourselves in the mood for a good glass of wine. The comptoir really does have a good choice, we settled for a full red Rasteau and stayed on it. Other customers came and went, locals as well as foreigners, youngsters as well as businessmen, and all the time... More

We have been to this place a couple of times and it never disappoints us. We were greeted pleasantly and was promptly seated. The food we ordered were fantastic and well presented and satisfying. Flavorsome and appealing to our senses. At the end of the meal we could only order one dessert as we were pretty full. We just casually... More

Seeking a restaurant in Les Halles that did not look too geared to tourists and was reasonable, we stumbled upon this establishment slightly off the main area. It was perfect for what we were looking for on our first night in Paris - very good steak and frites washed down with a decent bottle of red. Situated on a corner,... More

Excellent welcome in the heart of the Marais. I moved to this neighborhood last year - one which boasts countless desired addresses (often with attitude and prices to accompany), and this is one of the restaurants I have counted on for a consistently welcoming staff, quality wine list and meals, and the possibility of holding an enjoyable conversation with friends... Choosing a place to eat for lunch is always hard in Paris, and especially in tourist areas such as the Marais - just the sheer number of them. However, Comptoir des Archives was a brilliant choice. Service was good, friendly and helpful. I chose the menu of the day - with poached fish with salad and steamed potatoes followed by... More

Steak Tarter was terrific. Sancerre French wines - both red and white ordered - great - smooth and by the glass. People watching!

We stumbled upon this restaurant entirely by chance were very pleased. I ordered the duck breast and it was excellent. Great atmosphere, enjoyed the house wine. All in all a great meal and experience.

The Marais is known for his nice shops and restaurants and this one has a great location as well, so we had a stop with our three kids to eat a little snack ... it turned out as terrible as you can imagine and a total ripp-off. My wife and myself had a club sandwich (12 Euro) with chicken: both... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
