I joined a group of friends who live in Bastia for a drink at the Vinoteka and diner at the Grazie Mille Italian restaurant. The lady who runs the place is full of energy. The menu and spcial dishes looked very attractive. I went for the grilled octopus followed by pasta with crab. It was delicious. The wine list is... More

We booked a table at this place for two people, because the night before we were turned away because it was packed. We arrived and our table was reserved and we were quickly seated, and had our waiter come over and explain the suggested menu in English. We settled on a beef carpaccio appetizer and parmigiana and spaghetti main. Our... More

We arrived at about 8pm without a reservation and sat outside on the terrace. Our host, who may have been the manager, was extremely knowledgeable on all of the dishes and explained most of the menu to us as we don't speak any French. She made many well placed suggestions and we both chose fresh pasta dishes which were delicious!... More

Very OTT. Expensive for what it was. Wine wasn't that good for how much it cost, extortionate! Rather a lot of garnish on the plate. Just ok but not mouthwateringly delicious. On my plate fish had a crust of potatoes with more potatoes on the side. What's that all about?

Referred to this restaurant by our host in Bastia as a good option for an evening meal and she was not wrong!! The service was incredible with the waitress/owner taking the extra time and effort to explain the entire menu in English - a luxury not available to us elsewhere on the island. Also ensured we knew which local wines... More

We were served by the head waiter who clearly had enthusiasm for her profession. The flavours were robust and ingredients of a high standard. It was our best meal on Corsica.

The place du marche is possibly the nicest location for a dinner in Bastia. The restaurant is located in the north-east corner, overlooking the plaza. We had asked for a table outside, which is definitely what you should do (the interior looks a little too rustic 80s for my taste). The service was outstanding: attentive when necessary, yet sufficiently subtle... More

The owner's wife imposes her personality on this restaurant and treads a careful line between showing a personal interest in her customers and being overly intrusive. She is proud and passionate about the dishes presented, and rightly so, and takes great trouble to explain in detail what's on offer. I suggest you just go with it and enjoy the experience... More

Small elegant place on the market square, lunch on the terrace or indoors; dinner indoors (focus is on the food). Very friendly staff (owner?) with excellent English who explained all the creative dishes and made a superb wine recommendations. This is on a par with some of our favourite places in Toronto (which is a great food city, so that's... More

We chose this restaurant, on the basis of the Tripadvisor reviews, and were not disappointed. The owner and the waitress were really friendly, and explained the menu in great detail. We had the home made tagliatelle with courgette and prawns - delicious, and the escalope of veal with muscat and prunes, also great. The recommended wine was excellent.
