Carnot is in the heart of Beaune. We have eaten lunch, dinner and spent afternoon time. The food is very good. The wine selection is excellent. The service is superb. The hours make it convent for those of us not used to the French way.

Simple local cuisine, friendly staff, kids friendly (pizza!), very busy place with locals where other places were still empty. Authentic feel to it.

Our plane had been delayed into Paris so we arrived in Beaune well after most restaurants had finished their lunch service, throwing our plans out completely! This was about the only place we could find still serving food at 4:30pm. That being said the place was full of locals having coffee, nobody was eating. That being the case we could... More

A place open off hours, meaning, after 2pm!!! Very friendly staff despite all tables being full. We had a hearty, honest-to-God, tasty, piping hot boeuf bourguignon. Just what we needed at the time. A large Affligem beer to wash it down and, voila'!

Dropped in here for dinner the other week & we were pleasantly surprised. The food was tasty, well priced & the service was friendly without being over the top. Great value for money.

Busy little place, food is good, salads a bit over dressed, the charcuterie board was nice, they could add some fromage which would be good. Would have stayed for coffee but service was too slow. Shame as its a nice place.

As one of the few places serving lunch during the 2-7PM haunting hours, we were delighted (and lucky) to find this charming brasserie after touring the Hospice and walking the Town. The relaxed atmosphere belied the professional level of service and oh so exceptionally tasty food; the boeuf bourguignon was deep, rich and melt-in-your-mouth while the magret du canard was... We arrived to find the ambiance and decor a bit inauthentic. Our server gave us very little attention, and the breakfast menu left much to be desired. The sandwich was bland, albeit huge, and the crepe (only one on menu) was a sugary mess. Our coffees were overpriced and gaudy in appearance. They were so weak- an overly disappointing coffee..

During a busy tourism period in Beaune, I secured a table at this restaurant without a reservation and was rewarded with an extensive menu to satisfy many wishes, and I was pleased with my choices.

Starters were 'ok'. But main course completely unacceptable - v dry beef bourgogne with overcooked tagliatelle and no sauce. Tagliatelle Marine gratine was basically tagliatelle with cheese. I pointed out to the waitress that there was no seafood in it and was ignored. Very poor.
