If you love fresh seafood expertly prepared, don't miss Le Chalut. We had ordered a special menu for a group birthday dinner, and we were not disappointed. The sea scallops were the best we have ever had, and portions are generous. Beautiful presentation too. The service was prompt and impeccable. The only criticism is of the wine list, which had... We had our hotel make the reservation for us which probably wasn't necessary since it was off-season. We were warmly welcomed and we both ordered the 59 euro menu. We expected the amuse-bouche but not the size or quantity of it! Three delicious samples that included a cup of pumpkin soup and salmon tartare to give you an idea. Our... More

When we arrived we were rushed into ordering and drinks were plonked onto the table. Apart from leading waitress all staff seemed really young. One was shown how to lay a fork and knife diagonally on the table by another young lady. I resisted the temptation to straighten things whilst they were still there! Food was really good and tasty.... More

Initially, had a bit of a problem booking (english not spoken there when we rang and didn't get chance to try rudimentary French) but once my french aunt got on the case, no problem! It was worth the effort - food from start to finish was delightful. We had the 79Eu menu, worth every euro with delicious and unexpected amuse... More

Went to this place due to the reviews and recommendations in the guidebooks. The decor and menu looks like it hasn't changed since the 90s. The fish was well cooked but nothing was particularly special. The service was good but cold (old French). Note that there is no difference between the lunch and evening menu.

Far different from another Michelin one star in which we dined that was large, formal, elegant, meticulous, delicious. Le Chalet was also delicious but informal, intimate, relaxed. seating perhaps 30 diners. We stayed next door; the owner made our reservation well in advance. Our servers were young women, one of whom spoke English, supervised by the cheerful owner who approved... More

Having read good things about “Le Chalut” we decided to reserve a table for our family of four. The food was really very good and anyone who is into seafood is unlikely to be disappointed. HOWEVER, our big ‘mistake’ was to go there with our two daughters (aged 7 and 11). We were not stupid enough to expect a ‘menu... More

This restaurant came with high expectations. The restaurant has a traditional French and marine vibe although the menu did not focus solely on seafood. We had a set menu and the staff help select a glass of wine to match each course. The food and wines were of a high standard as you would expect in a Michelin rated restaurant.... More

We approached this restaurant with a bit of trepidation given some of the negative reviews on tripadvisor. We had a wonderful time. The service was pleasant and professional and the food was worthy of a star. We had scallops to start and they were succulent and moist. My wife's John Dory was wonderfully prepared as was my sea bass. Elegant... More
