We found this by accident when looking around Bergerac one lunchtime. The tables were full (always a good sign) but luckily someone was leaving just as we arrived. The menu was short and obviously made from fresh ingredients, presumably from the next door market, and with a local flavour. The tables are close together, and you can choose to go... More

Service is very good and friendly. We had the menu de la Cocotte,a three course dish wirh a selection of entrees, mains an desserts. It was good, the fish was right on spot an the desserts delicious. Waiting time was a bit long though I have to admit that it was very full. Would visit again.

When we visit a town, we do not know we check TripAdvisor for a nice place to eat. Lunchtime was upon us in Bergerac, so we wanted to see "La Cocotte". We had a little bit of trouble finding the place, but when we found it at one of the corners of the food market, there were some tables free... More

In the small covered modern market in the ancient section of Bergerac is a gem of a small restaurant. Honest good food, cleverly prepared and delivered in a setting where you can either sit outside and watch the world go by, or enjoy the hall of the market as vendors close up for their own lunchtime break. Most important is... More

Small modern attachment to the covered market where a young couple, he cooks, she fronts, use produce from the market to produce simple but very effective seasonal lunches. Fresh produce very well cooked, extremely good value and some good local wines available in glass, carafe or bottle make for a very pleasant place to have lunch. No real need to... More

Saturday market day in Bergerac and we turned to Tripadviser for a lunch recommendation and picked this husband and wife operation - he cooks, she's front of house - and it was perfect. They advertise on the menu chalkboard that everything they use is sourced from the market and it was certainly fresh and tasty while there was a good... More

We were wondering around at lunch time and decided to try this little restaurant. We had snails in a delicious garlic cream, topped with the lightest pastry. The duck confit was tender and tasty with a light cider sauce. The strawberry tart for dessert was so indulgent and also delicious. We enjoyed a carafe of local rose. Recommended!

This is a fabulous little place for a delicious lunch. Tucked away in the corner of the market. Charming French couple, wife serving and husband cooking. All produce is incredibly fresh and sourced from the market. Menu simple. 2 courses €15 and optional 3 courses. 3 choices of starter, main and desert. (All explained if needed.) Small place but not... More

La Cocotte des Halles is the restaurant of the local market, cooking food from ingredients that you can find in the stalls. By buying the ingredients from the market metres away you know you will not get more fresh food. Presentation is also to the standards that you expect and the menu include all the French classics. Staff are really... More

After hearing good reports we thought we'd try this for lunch. I'm glad I booked, because it's very popular. The atmosphere is busy and friendly and all three of us had good things to say about everything we ate. It's a lunchtime place and we'll be back. Excellent.
