We chose this based on other reviews as it sounded our kind of place and were not disappointed though we noted a lot of people seemed to be put off by the somewhat limited menu and focus on set/tasting menus. We chose the Atsina menu and thoroughly enjoyed our meal, especially the amuse bouche and fois gras. We seemed to... More

The chef at Frichti's is perhaps one to keep an eye on. He is quite capable and seems to be enjoying experimenting with different styles and preparations. It makes for a fun and memorable dining experience, even if it isn't quite yet refined fine dining. Which is just fine by me, as I quite enjoyed watching the progression and wondering... More

Fell upon this by chance though now realise it is well reviewed. Small intimate modern bistro, offering a short but gourmet menu, with a young but obviously rising star in the kitchen. A place to get to quickly before fame pushes up the prices. I had the pigeon and the chef's selection of cheese, both of which were excellent. An... More

Coming to the end of a three-day stay in the heart of Colmar and a fortnight in France and Switzerland, we were looking for a first-rate restaurant for a Saturday evening meal. My first two choices, that carried high recommendations from Gault et Millau's latest guide, were not available. Somewhat disappointed, we were able to book at Le Frichti's and... More

The restaurant is nicely located, but when you enter you are redirected "a la terasse" which is instead a poorly maintained roof where you are attneded by waiters who do not know almost anything about food or wines (they presented us a bottle of cremant in a bucket full of water and not ice because the ice was terminated !!!).... This cozy two story restaurant is located just past the covered food market in the old fishmonger section of the historic center of Colmar. We ate on the ground floor and opted for the 3-course menu. We were pleasantly surprised with the tasty amuses of maki, shrimp role and endive. For starters, we selected the tempura fried frog legs as... More

What a great find in Colmar, and worth searching for as you have many restaurants to choose from. Excellent service, and even though they did not speak English the young lady and man provided us with lots of fun as we tried to interpret the menu and food as it was brought out. All part of the enjoyment! The quality... More

Wonderfully kind and attentive service; sublime cuisine. I adore Alsatian cuisine, but after several really hearty, traditional meals Le Frichti's offered and delivered an excellent combination of western and eastern hemisphere cuisine. Treat yourself.
