Friendly staff, very safe during COVID times with plastic walls between most tables. Food was good, had an entrecôte with French fries. Nice piece of meat and the French fries were crunchy and good. The poivresauce wasn’t to my liking, but other than that a...good place for a nice lunch. Generous portions and no one left the table feeling hungry.More

We were a family of four (2 adults, 2 children). When we came and started reading the menu, we realized that we wanted nothing but desserts. When I tried to make an order, the waitress interrupted me: “you have come only for desserts? I should...clarify it with the manager” (whether they can let us stay or not), although we were totally alone inside (outside it was full). I know well that in France you should typically inform staff when you enter the place, if you come to take a glass of wine or for a dessert, otherwise they assume that you want a full meal, or at least a main course. But things may differ, especially when you are with the kids. Anyway, the waitress sounded not very polite. Then, the waitress seemed really irritated with us (although kids were totally quiet and behaved well) and brought us a bill right after the desserts, without our request. Of course we paid on the spot and left ASAP, so as to never get back again. The desserts were okay (nothing special but decent), but the service is something they should really work on, especially in COVID times when there are not so many tourists.More

Could not get in yesterday so we booked @ 7 pm for tonight. Yesterday, the very friendly waitress had promised us table 40 (the best for 2 pax on their terrace IMHO) at which we were seated, but eventually they asked to move to table...37 (because table 40 was grouped with another one for 6 pax) which is on the bridge side and feels much more packed... The 2nd waitress did apologize for the table change twice and felt very sorry but not her fault ofcourse. Furthermore, we had two 6-8 year olds seated just next to us, who, IMHO, should be taught some table manners by their parents... All the above honestly probably biaised our rating to 4 instead of 5... As it was around 36*C, we only had a main course, the house salad and an entrecôte with Paris mushroom sauce and both were very tasty and served promptly. We tried a Pinot Gris from Turckheim which was excellent and so was the ristretto to finish. The service was great. We can certainly recommend but where you are seated will certainly impact your experience.More

We did not pre-book and the restaurant was pretty full down stairs, so we were seated upstairs which filled up pretty quickly. The wait staff were attentive and polite - even for French. We both ordered a Cordon Bleu with a side of chips and...veg and pepper sauce, washed down with a 1/2L Rose wine and finished off with a bowl of 3 different glaces. We were very satisfied with our meal and would dine here again if fortunate enough to visit Colmar in the future.More

This is a restaurant attached to a butcher's shop; and I went to have lunch with a family member who is also a butcher. He told me as we were having lunch that this is the best steak he has had in ages!! All the...food was excellent, the staff was friendly. It is refreshing to see that even right in the centre you can have a very good meal. Definitely a very good place to go to.More

Cramped table on the terrace. Food served very quickly - emphasis here is on turning the tables over as quickly as possible to maximise revenue. The pork medallions we had were reasonable portion sized and tasted okay but nothing special. The service was typically French...(a mix of surly and indifference). The meal was fairly priced given the location of the restaurant.More

Just what the title says, we ordered steak (entrecote) and steak for our children (made of chopped meat and formed into a burger). The steak were good enough, taste good but meat little bit chewy. The champignon sauce was delicious. When we asked for a...bigger steak (standard 250gr) the waitress could not answer politely but only: one size! It could be interpreted as rude. The view is nice, right under a bridge where you can see lots of tourists taking pictures of the canal (and of this restaurant). The price are good enough, not extra expensive because of the location or whatsoever. For the negative reviews here especially on the waitresses: hey, it’s French, the people are “rude” 😉 it’s how they speak and do. Tips: if you order coke, you get a proper half litre bottle, cold. Order lemonade (for the kids), you get a glass of syrup and a big chill bottle of water. Plenty to drink!More
