WOW! The most authentic Tapas experience we have had. Everything was great from start to finish. We were a little apprehensive as if there are 2 of you, you cannot book in advance, but we did not need to be as on arrival on a very busy friday evening we were greeted by very helpful staff. We explained that we... More

I first visited El Rincon about 15 years ago, Keith Floyd was sat at a table enjoying the most authentic tapas in Manchester, how things have changed. I still live the environment and the staff are very good however the food has taken a serious turn for the worse. I wouldn't expect to see chopped up crab sticks in an... More

So many Spanish people dine here that you think you are in Spain and allows you to think it is very authentic. Large selection of tapas and main courses all of which are good including the paella mixta. House wine is very acceptable and reasonably priced. The thing that can catch you out on their website/Facebook page is that although... More

I usually avoid Spanish restaurants, and specifically tapas restaurants, in the UK because I'm half Spanish and I always find them overpriced for the quality and portions. However I have to say that El Rincon in Manchester was an exception. The prices were great value considering the very generous portion sizes, and the quality of the food was absolutely excellent.... Met up with some friends to come here for the first time. My immediate impression was that it looked like a scruffy back street restaurant, but I soon realised that the look of this place adds to the charm and authenticity of the restaurant. All the tapas we ordered were top quality. We tried a variety of things ranging from... More

Patatas bravas was the best dish of the night, the rest (lamb chops, fillet steak, gambas pil pil) were underwhelming. They forgot about the Filetitos until we asked and when it arrived it was tough so we sent it back. There are better Tapas places in town

As always in Rafa's ... great food, lovely staff and great value for money - despite our last round of drinks keeping the staff late! A pleasure to eat here

A group of 5 (plus a 4 month old) of us wanted to have tapas on a visit to Manchester so I looked at El Rincon reviews it sounds fab and it didn't disappoint. Seated quickly and although they ran out of cave we switched to the rose at the same price. 3 dishes each plus 3 bottles of cave... More

Authentic, quality, great atmosphere, good price, great wine....I cant really say more. I've ate in Spain and this restaurant was just as good. I would highly recommend a visit.

El Rincón de Rafa is Manchester's longest-serving independent Spanish restaurant, having been in the city centre for 22 years. A family run establishment, El Rincón is regularly described as a 'hidden gem' and offers a relaxed, authentic experience, brought to Manchester from Málaga by owner Rafael Cabrera-Vargas. El Rincón offers a large range of tapas and main courses (including paellas) and a fully stocked bar with a huge variety of Spanish beers (both bottles and draught) and wines. The off the beaten track but central location of El Rincón (close to the Hilton hotel - turn down St John's St from Deansgate and take the first right) ensures an unbeatable authentic Spanish atmosphere, but with hidden nooks and crannies for a more intimate feel. The restaurant doesn't accept bookings for two, seating couples at a number of tables on a first come, first served basis. Customers are also welcome to visit just the bar for food and/or drinks. Que aproveche!
