I have only been there for lunches, but in that case the sushi is really good value for money. Very good most of the times, plenty of choice, a very good sized portion. Can only recommend.

This place has a really nice atmosphere, staff and food! Visited a couple of times now and have had a deluxe bento box which comes with miso soup and sushi/sashimi. Lovely food each time and fantastic value, the green tea is lovely too and it all adds to a great experience.

I had the Mixed tempura and Shichimi Steak Benton on a Saturday for lunch. This came with two pieces of nigiri (chef's choice) which turned out to be a white fish and octopus, along with some miso soup. Not bad for £10! The tempura was amazingly crispy and light, vegetables were melting in my mouth and I can't fault that.... More

It is a Japanese restaurant and it is really good!Inside it is much nicer than you would think if you looked at it from outside! You can dine there or get some takeaway. If you are having takeaway, ask for the 'special'-chicken catsu curry! It costs 4.50£ and it has a generous quantity of food!If you forget to say it is the special,you... I was in Manchester for a show and had some time to kill beforehand. I wanted somewhere near enough to the station and being a Japanese food fan, i HAD to give this place a go. I had some dumplings for starters which were on par with what you'd expect at chain stores like Wagamas. There were tasty, simple and... More

Samsi is a very, very common haunt of mine with my friends and I visiting at least once a fortnight, and I never once have I had a complaint. The service is never slow and always friendly and the restaurant has a great atmosphere inside whether you're dining with a large group or just having a casual meet up with... More

We visited on Friday evening and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We ordered the "Taste of Japan" set meal for £24.95 each and thought the variety of tastes, textures and the quantity excellent. No complaints with service either. Would highly recommend.

Visited again on a last minute choice as our original booking at another establishment was cancelled. Around about 3pm. Place was quiet but so appeared to be the rest of Manchester. Pre Christmas lull I guess. We settled for the set menu for two. Misono soup, a tempura selection, sushi, wonton, steak, Japanese curry and noodles. All lovely tasting and... More

I was very disappointed with the food at this Japanese restaurant. My tuna sashimi was poor quality and didn't have that freshness that is essential. The other food was bland and lacked flavour. Having told the waitress that I was in a hurry, it took more than 10 minutes to come and take my order even though the room was... More

Rushing flavours is a tough task for any quality restaurant. We do try to stick to all our customer's time frames but on very busy weekend days it is best to come in between 3-5pm when we are quieter to guarantee instant service. As our food is cooked fresh to order we can recommend certain meals that are quick as... More

My husband and I just visited this restaurant tonight as a causal dining. We ordered 16 pieces of sushi which we would rate it as average. We as well ordered a plate of seafood fried noodles and a Una-do set. both of them taste nice especially the Una-do. Service was excellent. The waitress dress in kimono was pleasant to help... More

We are glad you enjoyed the food and sorry for the cause for complaint. We have trapped the offending creature. It was a fruit fly. Fruit flies do not bite but even so we appreciate your concern. Our high levels of health and hygiene remain an absolute priority. In order to serve fresh sushi we source all our fish from... More

Description
SAMSI has been trading for 19 years in April, specialising in Japanese cuisine and food stuff. It began as an award-winning restaurant, which quickly expanded into four different cities in the North west of England. In response to customer request we began importing and selling ingredients in retail sizes while continuing to search Japan for the highest quality restaurant ingredients. We research every country for trends in Japanese dining in restaurants, hotels, and in homes. From the UK, we can supply worldwide reliably. Our recent expansion has been the manufacture of Japanese ready-meals in noodle, bento-lunchbox, and sushi packs. These have been developed with Manchester Metropolitan University. The taste test studies carried out by the university supported our ideal that the ready meals are restaurant quality. We not only deal with food products, but we also provide tableware to assist you in experiencing the most authentic Japanese style.
