We love the Tai Pan and returned yesterday with the whole family... four adults and 5 kids (ages 2-11). We were given a warm welcome and shown to our table straight away. Sam ordered double of possibly most of the items on the menu; Chicken and sweetcorn soup, Sui mai, har Kau, seaweed, prawn in paper with sesame, two different... More

Was busy on a Sunday lunch but distinctly poor in all facets. Service a nightmare with servers running away everytime you tried to summon them. Food was warm and normally we'd send it back but we were all starving! They used to be good but won't be going there again. I'm pretty sure they can do much better then that... More

Six months since we last ate here. Mobbed as usual which you would take as a good sign. Car parking management needs improving. I parked outside the car park then was ushered to park inside, fair enough. After 30 minutes they asked me to move my car - not very happy about that I can tell you half way through... More

Sorry I hated it. Salt and pepper spare ribs were almost tasteless and then I followed with sweet and sour pork which was quite greasy. The only redeeming factor was the portions were massive but it was over £25 for that.

The food here has been good over the years. Lunchtime yesterday - I asked for Ho Fun with pork (char siu). The waitress stated they do not do it, and eventually the rather cocky and arrogant manager came to state that they do this dish with prawns or beef, but not char siu. He went on to state that the... I have just had a meal in this restaurant and can honestly say the food is amazing. The venue itself is nice but would not be suitable for a romantic meal or a meal to impress but for a nice meal out it's great. It has free parking and onsite security (as it's not in the best area) I guess... More

Big car park. Restaurant on first floor with stairs or lift access. Chinese restaurant patronised by the Chinese - a very good sign. Excellent service and plenty of choice even on the set lunch time menu. We enjoyed tasty sweet corn soup and superb crispy duck with plum sauce as starters. Choice of meat or vegetarian main courses with rice... More
