A wonderful experience .Everything about the restaurant was exquisite! Attentive and welcoming staff, who were very professional and knowledgeable about the food. Each of the six courses was a delight, the flavours were truly remarkable! We had a very leisurely lunch, with beautiful food and an exceptional bottle of wine! Would certainly recommend it for a special occasion!

What a superb experience. I'd gone off the French some time ago. Simon's menu was getting very samey and it was getting to the point when I didn't like most of the dishes on available. However, my wife is a sucker for these places and I wanted to treat her to whatever she liked for Valentine's Day so the French... More

How often do see the Executive Chef come out and say hello to all the customers in the restaurant, they'll take your money and leave it at that. Adam Reid, of Great British Menu fame, came out towards the end of dinner service and said hello to every couple/group in the restaurant. He answered questions about the courses and if... More

We had the six course taster menu. My wife had the vegetarian option and we both had a wonderful experience. There was no rush (we took 2 hours) and the service was just right. Attentive, polite and professional. The food was simply delicious and a work of art on a plate. Fantastic.

Terrible service. An unexplained delay of 20 mins before we got any food service or drinks. The menu dishes weren't quite my taste. The flavour combinations didn't really work, the food was not fresh and the ingredients were just not of good quality, but I am a picky eater so depends on the person going there to eat

The restaurant smelt of fart, so I simply walked in then walked back out. Disgusting , may have been a waiter, may have been a customer who knows?

Now this was outstanding food, taster menu and every course was simply magical. Very attentive service, fine wines matched to your different courses were all just right and brought the best out of the food. Fantastic!!!😀😀

We visited here as part of a Christmas present for my husband. We stayed over in The Midland Hotel. Our stay was on a Friday and the restaurant only provides a set 9 course menu on these days. We were happy with that. Only choice we then had to make was which drinks to choose. You could add the Wine... More

We ate at the French ostensibly for my wife and daughter to try the 'Golden Empire' dessert that they had seen featured on the Great British Menu. We did not know what to expect from the nine course tasting menu as it included some 'interesting' combinations. My wife and I decided to take the flash get of wines which the... More
