A perfectly brilliant homely menu and what a lovely relaxed atmosphere . I attended with a friend and it was like home cooking ( but perfect)

Visited Annies for afternoon tea and enjoy every minute, we got small sandwiches and not being a lover of smoked salmon they changed it for another one of my choice, very accommodating, the cakes were simply but nice, environment relaxing and service excellent. Will visit again soon

Visited for pre theatre food so did not have oodles of time. Tables empty but have to have the ritual of sitting in the lounge area and looking at menu before being seated. Long time to wait and only got a menu when seated at a table. Food overpriced and mediocre. Peeling wallpaper in bathroom, cheap fairy lights and dark,... More

Somewhat sad to be leaving a mediocre review as the staff were great; sadly the food quality just didn't come up to scratch. First they oddly insisted that we sit in the basement rather than upstairs where there were loads of tables free. Downstairs has the ambience of an 80's dungeon nightclub not commensurate with an olde English afternoon tea.... More

Dined with a couple of friends for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. We had not visited this restaurant for some time and were happy to see that the traditional feel was still there. The restaurant clean no stained seating, as on my first visit. The service was excellent, booking at short notice, arrival at the restaurant and... More

We visited midweek booking a table of 14 for 8pm. There were only a few diners there when we arrived and no others turned up after us so you would expect that we would have the undivided attention of the staff. Despite this the service was slow and the food average at best. Not a venue I would return to... More

The interior is a tradiitional tea room/library that you might imagine in a stately home. Quite dark with a lack of natural light (even with great mirrors) it is probably suitably atmospheric for a late afternoon cup of tea and slab of cake but for early morning breakfast comes across as gloomy. Breakfast is hearty (decent sausages and black pudding)... More

We chose to go to this restaurant because we have a Taste Card which entitled us to 50% off the food bill. It really is a beautiful place. We had a Rib-Eye Steak with Blue Cheese sauce each. This was the nicest steak I have ever had. The decor is wonderful. The music finished everything perfectly (Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald... More

£11.50 for a pot of tea for two, plus two scones served with jam and cream is too expensive. Had to wait quite some time to have our order taken then a further wait to be served also non of the staff smiled
