If you want a young persons pub with loud music then don't come here. Background music allows you to have a normal level conversation. They do show sports as well with a good number of TVs to watch. Serve draught beer with Pedigree and a couple of guest beers. Good value and reasonably priced for drinks. Keep coming back here... More

Friendly local people who readily accept outsiders, my new local. Good for watching a match or catching a drink

I have not been in The Royal Oak for years popped in as one on a bit of a pub crawl round Chorlton can't say it's changed over the last 20 years, saying that atmosphere was good and had a game of pool which was worth the trip alone. Would I go back in again no but only because it's... More

This pub does good food with a good variety at a reasonable cost. The pub and bar area is dull and scruffy needing a good overhaul and brightening up. Good atmosphere for the football. But this pub has the worst gents toilet I have ever encountered outside of third world countries, the stench of urine near knocks your nostrils into... More

It's what's commonly known as a real pub! Lol. Lively on match days, helped by the cheap beer. Nice central location In Chorlton.

The atmosphere is sordid here, no life, just heavy drinkers scattered all over the place looking like if they were hiding to get drunk. Some people might think this is what a proper English should look like, but definitely not my cup of tea. Price is cheap though and only reason why I give a positive point to it

Very much a local pub with friendly people and relaxed atmosphere. The food is incredibly cheap - mostly standard pub grub like pie and mash, lasagne, a curry, etc but it is reasonable quality - similar to Wetherspoons - and decent sized portions. Not much to tempt a vegetarian/vegan though. Good selection of cheap drinks. They also show football on... More
