I’ve been to the Sultan frequently over the years. The recent change in head chef is a significant improvement over the previous in my opinion. I can honestly say the food is now on par with the ambience of this place, which has always been...More

Went over the weekend, was not a spontaneous choice as this is my favourite place to eat in Lancaster. Their mango lassi is beautiful, the lamb chops are always fresh off the grill (note for meat lovers ;D ). The staff are very friendly but...More

After supporting this restaurant for over 20 years, the recent change of management has become disappointingly obvious . While one might expect new owners to make their own mark on the food , they have retained the same menu but significantly reduced the food quality...More

He’d never had authentic curry. He enjoyed his starters, mains and the Naan. I enjoyed my food. Staff were welcoming to me and remembered me from previous visits. The Lemongrass Sherbet is my drink of choice

Visited on a busy Saturday evening with my husband. Understaffing appeared to be a problem, as they were also dealing with take away customers. We ordered a starter, but before the starter we ordered poppadoms, which were brought after the starter, when we questioned the...More

We will most definitely be back to this beautiful venue, an old church that has been tastefully renovated. Despite the restaurant being relatively quiet, the ambience and atmosphere was friendly, welcoming and warm. The Service was outstanding, we were attentively looked after, but not smothered,...More

Wow, I have eaten at Sultan twice in the last week after family business brought me home to Lancaster. What a treat! The service and food are excellent. The menu does not try to offer too much choice. Classic dishes cooked well. I loved the...More

Stopped here last night on way back to Scotland from watching mighty Burnely getting turned over in Manchester. Wanted somewhere for my son and I to have a decent curry that was close to M6. Wasn't disappointed. Really good food, really nice and welcoming staff...More

Hi, The staff made every effort to accommodate my 3 young grandchildren and brought out chips even though we hadn't ordered them. We like them to try varied foods so they did make us a mild spiced dish for them to try. There... More

No alcohol served and you can’t take any in either. It used to be a Methodist church and they respect that. Not sure about the oven.
