We ate here three time over a period of a fortnight, there was always a welcome even when we arrived late. The food was freshly cooked and of good quality, the beer, particularly the guest beer was outstanding, go for the copper dragon when it comes around again. The dining area is attractively furnished and spacious with a comforting fire.

Not been in for ages and popped in after a party , was really busy and atmosphere was buzzing. Staff really friendly /polite/accommodating/pleasant. Landlord about making sure everything and everyone ok. Toilets were immaculate- as was the pub . Don't know who the staff were but 10-10. Brilliant night. Will be back!!

The Smiths Arms is one of the pubs that are local to us so we've been a few times with my partner. The atmosphere is lovely. The staff are very friendly. It feels like you are visiting a friend's house. The food is very nice and they have different offers and specials every day of the week. The only problem... More

This is one of our most favourite places to eat. The family who own it and the staff who work here are extremely friendly and make everyone so welcome. There is an open fire that is so nice to sit next to on a cold evening. The special food nights are well worth the money and there is also a... More

A night on our own with no family tonight so off out for tea. We found ourselves at the Smiths tonight and settled into a cosy table by the log burner. Service was prompt and I ordered an excellent pint of Wainrights. My wife had a coke so that was the driving sorted! We ordered food, one gammon and I... More

8 of us were booked in for the 3 course festive lunch and we paid the £5 each deposit the week prior. There were a choice of 4 starters, mains & desserts. We were shown to the decorated table and settled ourselves in. The starters we had were, soup, prawn cocktail and garlic mushrooms which we all polished off. For... More

Dropped in for lunch and the Santa's Sandwich is back on! Great. Christmas lunch in a sandwich. Tasty turkey, all the trimmings (minus sprouts) and great gravy to dunk your sandwich in. And I think very good value. Washed down with a very good pint of Wainrights. Pub is nicely decorated for Christmas without being over the top. Lovely open... More

Warm welcome and friendly staff. Food always very good. Log fires always good in the winter. We like the seating in cubicles. Landlord and staff always look after you.
