Went on a day coach trip to Barton Grange yesterday, 1st Dec 2016.After two and a half hours on the coach , my friend and I were desperate for coffee. We tried to head straight for the café, but eventually had to ask a staff member for directions, as it is right at the back of the garden centre. Self... More

Eaten here dozens of times, usually for lunch with friends or family. It's a good meeting point as just off the A6 and it's always nice to have a mooch round looking at the (top whack priced) goods for sale. Now we are used to dropping £20+ every time we get a bite to eat here but the other day,... More

I'm glad the centre is advertising for staff including chefs because the food is currently very very bad! I've been a couple of times before and it's always been bang on, today however was not! Turkey with all the trimmings was turkey with a tiny bit of dry stuffing and small pig in blanket, the veg, well it was absolutely... More

We called here for lunch. Despite being very a busy Sunday with Christmas shoppers we were served quickly and found a table easily. There is an extensive menu ranging from sandwiches to cooked dinners. The Garden Centre is very large and sells a good range of gifts aswell as excellent meat in the Food Hall which is very reasonably priced

I was always a fan of Barron grange until last evening. We went for a meal/ banquet and the standards have really dropped. I wouldn't usually complain on here but we were never asked if anything was ok with our meal! Starter- prawn and avacado salad. The prawns looked shrivelled and potentially been frozen. Then the roast over the years... More

We visited Barton Grange mid September it is NOT a garden centre no more, it is now a Christmas shop in Autumn. At least 75% of floor space is taken over by Christmas goods, I like Christmas like most people but not in September TO MUCH TO SOON. Needless to say I will not be going back any time soon... More

Visiting our daughter she suggested a visit to this garden centre, it is in fact much more than that and I'd say it is the best I've ever been to. However, good as the centre is I want to describe our lunch which turned out to be really good in many ways. We chose the small plates 3 for 10... More

After a disappointing lunch at a different garden centre we decided to have our coffee and cake at Barton Grange. We had the Manchester Tart, which I really enjoy, but found slices of banana at the bottom. I don't like banana so I was disappointed by this tart. The coffee was nice but could have been a bit stronger. Hot... More
