We went in as the exterior looked so attractive. Inside is tired, grubby (as are the people we saw working there) and uncomfortable. The woman behind the bar looked at my husband as if he was mad when he asked for an alcohol-free lager as he was driving, and my normal lager was served in a dirty glass. We had... More

Decided to end a long journey with a meal here as in the summer it's a nice place to come on a sunny Sunday. I had my partner, her elderly mother and my 4 year old daughter. I am still upset that I put my daughters health in jeapordy eating here. I feel the staff were caretaker winter staff. Friendly... More

Dropped in for a drink. The publican was so accomodating! Eager to share the history of the pub. In fact gave us a brochure on it. Well worth a visit.

We've visited this pub last week with the intention of having a drink and possibly something to eat! The Pub was very grubby ! And also in need of a refurbishment! Such a shame that a wonderful old building has not been looked after! Didn't stop for food ! Wonder why!!! I found out that the pub is up for... More

My main comment about this place is; for such a historic listed pub and building it lacks character! I was last here 35 years ago and my memories were not restored! I guess it's now just a general everyday high street chain pub.

Very cosy Tudor style pub. Good priced food. I am from Cheltenham and I often come here. The beer is good too. This is good for Camra members too as you get a discount on real ale. In a great location. Nice place to come and relax. There is also a TV in the spare room which often shows the... More

We had lunch in this pub and I have to say the food was really good and the customer service was second to none. It was a dog friendly pub, which handed out bags of dog biscuits, which was brilliant. I would definitely go back when next in the area
