Very nice cafe in a charming lane off Westgate. Had good coffee and a very nice and well presented BLT sandwich.

Having always walked by we thought we would stop for a light lunch. We both had leek and potato soup served with a choice of bread or baguette plus a nice cup of tea. It was yummy. There was a good selection on the menu including some good looking deserts. The staff were friendly.

This is one of my favourite lunch spots in Gloucester. But today I met friends there and was shocked at how much it is now for a baguette and drink. £9.45! We also felt very uncomfortable as if they wanted us to leave as they put the bill on the table . They never used to do this. It looks... More

We thought we'd try this quite little restaurant in the quiet collage court. On perusing the menu we decided on the butter nut squash soup. My partner had never tried it, but the waiter suggested he bring a small sample to try, so saying he brought a small cup of soup, which she tried and liking it we ordered two,... More

Lily's is a traditional tea room, right next to the cathedral down a picturesque lane. I had a quick lunch there. A prawn sandwich came, as requested, without too much sauce and with some of the best gluten-free bread I've tasted in a long time. It was very busy and I was lucky to get a table.

My wife and I have been here a couple of times for breakfast now. The atmosphere is always so pleasant and relaxed, the staff are lovely and - most importantly - the food is superb. Anywhere can serve you a cooked breakfast, but Lily's ones are in a league of their own. Definitely try it out if you appreciate locally... More
