Left a review about this place a while ago and sadly things have not improved. Steak pie very tough, mentioned to staff "sorry about that" as if she almost expected it! No attempt to recompense or explain just "would you like a desert'". Live locally but sadly will only visit again for drinks in the summer as the beer garden... More

Excellent place for a meal and an evening out. Ambiance is everything in the world of the traditional pub and the cuckoo has it in spades. The food is good too and very reasonably priced.

We had dinner here last night. A warm and welcoming atmosphere and attentive but not intrusive service. Great pub food and a nice selection on the menu. Excellent value for money too! This will be our go to place to eat when we're next in the area.

I visited The Cuckoo about a month ago on my way back from Peterborough to Cambridge where I live. Our first intention with my husband was to have a burger in Burger King which is on A1 but then we've passed this beautiful inn and changed our mind so we stopped for a dinner there. This place is divided into... More

Had a meal with a number of colleagues recently. Easily booked online, great choice of real ales and all round good choice of beers /wines. Great variation in food from traditional British to great stone baked pizza. Staff friendly and helpful. A must visit pub.

Having had good dining experiences in the past in The Cuckoo I decided to book to come here for my son's birthday party on Friday night. Sadly standards have severely gone downhill since my last visit. Service was extremely slow to non existent, albeit when the waiter did attend to us he did have a pleasant manner. Unfortunately though that... More

Called in here on a busy Saturday lunchtime whilst out walking. We sat in the pub rather than the restaurant at the front and really enjoyed it. The sandwiches were actually rolls but that didn't really matter. Extremely good value too.

We have used The Cuckoo many times for family get-togethers as it is so convenient for the A! and travellers coming from Yorkshire, Northumberland, Surrey and Essex. We have never been disappointed and this visit was no exception. We received a warm welcome and were not rushed to our table or to order our meals meaning we could sit in... More

I've had Sunday dinners in a few different locations but by far the cuckoo always comes up trumps so look forward to going , we always eat in the bar area as the restaurant can get quite busy. But I think we would feel more at comfort in the bar area.
