This is a typical village pubby/restaurant place, very busy during the tourist season and offering a variety of foods, from moules and frites to a fullblown meal in the restaurant. It is small, and frequently filled with tourists, though the locals tend to eat in the restaurant, rather than outside on the terrace. It is a fun place, right in... More

Love this place. Family run, busy brasserie on the corner of an enchanting village square. The steak tartare is prepared at the table to your taste and never disappoints. Always have specials. Happy place to visit and is a great outside eaterie.

We popped in for a coffee during the day but returned later for a meal after viewing the menu. We were so impressed with the food, we came back 2 days later for another meal.

This looked very promising as it was busy. Staff seemed disinterested. Menu a bit limited. We had a 3 course menu. Starters were not too bad. Main courses were poor. Chicken supreme was nothing like I would expect. Ham and white beans was just that, nothing else. My wife then had a glass of water knocked over her by a... More

Stumbled across this place while exploring the area. Had a great 'plat du jour' (duck confit). It was very busy, but service was quick and friendly. Good meal in a pretty location in a pretty village. Can't say fairer than that!

On a very hot day we stopped for coffee but just too late for lunch. The coffee was very good and other people's lunches looked good too. The menu was a wee bit restricted but appealing. Toilet was immaculate.

We came back here for lunch as we'd already stopped for coffee the week before and thought it was a nice little place. The staff were overall very friendly and attentive apart from one of the girls that was a bit moody and less friendly but we put that down to her not speaking English although we spoke French to... Had a couple of really good meals, good value and decent portions. Staff speak a little english too which helps those that struggle.

We spent a pleasant hour sitting watching people at this venue. The waitress was attentive and the drinks good.

Only place capable of serving lunch on a Monday in Vouvant when we were there but very glad we went. Popular with locals and ex-pats but service was still prompt. Great location for people watching outside but also plenty of room inside. Good choice of food including fresh moules, entrecote or burgers for kids. Highly recommended for a nice unfrilly... More
