Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As a last minute decision and because it was available, we booked a room over in the nearby Woodenbridge Lodge and walked over to eat at their restaurant. We were greeted by a ‘very welcoming’, ‘front desk’ receptionist and directed to their restaurant. Maciek greeted us with a friendly smile and we ordered a couple of drinks. The menu was quite extensive and there were some great choices. After a bit of discussion (with Maciek) we both settled on a main meal of turkey, stuffing and ham, with seasonal vegetables. Our order arrived hot, well presented and generous in size. It wasn’t long before we realised it was the ‘very best meal’ we have had on our 16 day tour of Ireland. We’d not eaten lunch, so we ordered a dessert of apple pie. It was also delicious. Upon leaving (with very happy bellies) we wanted to personally thank the restaurant manager (who also had friendly smile and was busy helping out) for the wonderful service (by Maciek) and the outstanding food. Luckily we are staying two nights in the Woodenbridge Lodge, so we’re looking forward to tomorrow night’s meal. After dinner, we made some room for our breakfast meal (also up in the restaurant) by going for walk in the rain. We were then, surprisingly, ‘serenaded’ by the huge convoy of ‘horn tooting’ trucks who were campaigning for a Children’s Cancer charity. We hope their efforts raise a lot of money for this worthy cause.

Great variety of meals and kids are well catered to too. The beef cheek was fantastic, other meals were generously sized and hearty type food. pLenty of drinks to choose from too.

We enjoyed a three course meal that was very good. The lamb shank was excellent. The tempura prawns were not quite tempura but otherwise a really tasty meal and a good wine selection.

This was a very good stop for our group of 40 as we were touring all day out of Dublin & had just toured the nearby Avoca Mill. The fact that wine was included in our pre-paid lunches was a plus, and the fact we weren't served chicken was also a plus. (We'd been served chicken at practically every previous lunch with half of them not including wine, just local beer or ale or Guinness.) My only complaint was the greens served with a pate & toast was apparently just for garnish -- not anything close to being a salad, and I like a side salad with meals at restaurants. The roast beef with gravy was tender & flavorful, as were the 2 varieties of potato (roasted & mashed). The carrots & peas I could've done without as I'm not a fan of either. We had our choice of light desserts, and I chose the chocolate mousse in a chocolate pastry shell with coffee. All in all the meal served me well as we still had more bus time & touring on foot afterwards. Would definitely make this a lunch stop again if I'm ever out this way.
