A lovely atmosphere, great location, good parking, relaxed, informal and friendly. They do the best chowder in Wexford, maybe Ireland! Portions are large so we decided on 2 starters rather than a main and it was still too much. On the second visit we shared a starter (duck pancakes) and really really enjoyed the oven baked cod, absolutely delicious. The... More

My mother and I decided to head to Wexford town today and stopped into the Riverbank for some lunch. Staff were very accommodating in sorting a table for us both and were warm and friendly. We shared the Brie starter which was perfect as it was quite a big portion. For mains, my mother had the mushroom risotto and I... More

For the best quality bar food in Wexford, you can't go wrong with The Riverbank the staff here are always friendly, the latest addition to the menu (chicken schnitzel) is simply awesome

... but the night we were there the noise from two large tables was deafening and took away from the vibe. It does fill up with locals--especially families--which is a good sign for folks staying at the hotel, especially given that it is a bit of a hike into Wexford.

Amazing starters - we had the chicken wings and blue cheese dip, (so delicious!) & garlic mushrooms - these were average although still tasty. Mains - steak - dry, over cooked and literally couldn't cut into it (shame), fish and chips -... More

The riverbank house hotel is situated just over Wexford bridge about a 10 minute walk from town. In my opinion this is one of the best places to eat in Wexford. I have eaten here many many times and never once has it been disappointing. They have an extensive bar food menu and also cater for special occasions like communions,... More
