Had a fabulous lunch in La Marine Bistro today. The atmosphere was fabulous and the staff were incredible. Here is an example of a restaurant (and hotel) that knows the value of service. I will be highly recommending to friends & family! And the food!! Well done to the Chef, crafting an actual tasty and nutritious plant-based menu (yes more than 1 option!). I was so impressed, thank you to all of the staff for a beautiful afternoon in Rosslare. Will be back soon!

A group of 8 of us visited La Marine recently to celebrate my father in law's birthday. It was superb from start to finish! We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink in the bar before hand and were served by the very professional and friendly Patrick. There is a cocktail list which we perused, but who can pass up the selection of delicious wines, especially when you can see right into the cellar! Paul led us to our table and himself and Breda looked after us all evening. We enjoyed a mixture of dishes from the Early Bird Menu (Excellent Value!!) and the A La Carte menu. All 8 of us tried something different from Steak, Hake to Spatchcock chicken, with no complaints from anyone! A birthday cake arrived for the Birthday Boy and a great fuss was made! This is not my first time to La Marine, and it won't be the last! It truly is A Jewel In the Crown" and a great asses to Rosslare and Wexford.

On the rare occasion we have eaten out in this pandemic, people rarely ask about the meal ! It is ,what is the spacing like ,staff mask wearing ., disposable napkins etc . The latest recommendations that customers wear masks till seated etc was not followed. Some staff masked , no management wearing masks . This was August 21st ., Surprised & dissapointed ! Staff lovely & our meal was good but not worth the risk !

As a party of 4, we travelled to Kelly's Rosslare from Dublin on Monday last, 6 Sept. It was my first time and I had heard great things. The first impression was that the outside dining area was grubby and needed attention. Within less than 5 minutes of ordering, our food arrived- I was wary but hey, this was Kellys, right? Wrong. Two of us ordered the chichen on bruschetta with avacado salsa and wedges, my mum ordered the chowder and my sister ordered the duck confit. Everything on my plate was cold, brown and awful! I've honestly never seen anything like it. The chicken was presented in 2 thin over cooked slivers, the wedges were reheated, cold and tasted like the old fat. The avacado salsa was anything but fresh and was tasteless with a brown tinge. My husband was horrified and felt quite ill afterwards. The chowder was inedible according to my mum and I watched as she pulled a large bone from her mouth with the first spoonful. My sister said the duck confit was good but the salad and old and saturated wedges were disgraceful. Nobody came to ask how our food was and in the end, we just called for the bill and left. This was lazy, indifferent and arrogant cheffing.

La Marine Bistro is part of the Kelly's Hotel operation. If you are a guest in the hotel you may dine indoors. If you are a passing tourist you are welcome to dine outdoors - at a table under the sun or under a marquee that is heated. It is a popular spot and it may be wise to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. The staff are warm and welcoming and very efficient. There is a good variety of food options on the menu, and the food itself is very tasty. Not overly expensive, but in the mid-price range. There is a lovely holiday feel to the outdoors area. Recommended.

I booked La marine for lunch for four people . On arrival , the door to the restaurant was closed . Several people queuing . Person eventually opened the door and turned around ,casually left it ajar without welcoming people in to restaurant. On entering the bar our party of four were ignored . We looked around for a table . The tables were small . The tiled floor was dirty . I was disappointed as I had expected a higher standard from reviews. I asked about La Marine ? If I was in the right place ? The server told me that the bar served the same menu even though we had booked La Marine and suggested we take a seat in the bar even though the tables were VERY small for a party of four . When I established I had booked a table I was reluctantly shown to our table . The food was good . Service , once we were shown to our booked table was good .

The restaurant and bar are richly decorated, many works of art are visible throughout the hotel complex of which they are part. There is a nice selection of wine and the open kitchen offers a bit of entertainment. French people, and their know-how, are in the kitchen and in the dining room. We came 2 nights and were very well received and accompanied by a waiter of French origin, which facilitated our understanding of the menu. As a starter, we took monkfish wrapped in ham and scallops caught in the area, both were succulent. We then took lamb chops that were melting and delicious, the fish was also very good. We were told that the vegetables accompanying our dishes were made as much as possible in the Pension gardens, and they were excellent. We ended up with a dessert made with local strawberries that was perfect.

It is a joy to come here for Sunday lunch. We arrived and there are jugs of water and baskets of bread to enjoy immediately. We ordered wine and it was in our glasses before our driver arrived in from parking the car. That's service for you! There was no rush put on us to get our food order in but when we did it arrived within 10 minutes or so . We especially loved the pork belly and the Sunday roast - beef- was delicious and very generous. We got 3 slices of sirloin. Desserts looked and tasted great. The profiterole was filled with really creamy caramel ice cream. Management and waiting staff came to.ourctable a few times during the meal to ask us if everything was ok. No wonder this family business has so successful for so long.

The restaurant bar looks grubby. The brass needs a proper clean. The walls are stumble and marble. Both finishes need cleaning. The visible wine cellar needs to be tidy instead of random boxes on the floor. The food is adequate. Not top notch. Too much lettuce frisée with my crab. Scallops slightly over done. Asparagus ends not shaved so they were tough. The thin cut chips were a mix of perfect and overcooked. The lemon meringue roulade was excellent. Needs a good shake up.

As always Kelly's Resort never fails to satisfy. Beautiful meal for two adults and two kids. Staff so friendly and efficient. Felt very safe with all Covid procedures in place with hand sanitisers, all staff wearing face covering etc. Food was beautiful and we can't wait to return. Thank you to Laura, Bill, Eamon & team.

Myself, my wife and four of my extended family had a birthday celebration meal here. The food was excellent , particularly the monkfish, lamb and rib eye steak. The staff were top class and went out of their way to please and there was a terrific ambience even in these difficult times. Highly recommended.

You would expect a restaurant called La Marine to be able to cook fish properly but alas, not. The monkfish was chewy and tasteless without any sauce. Not worth €26. Other mains - salmon and duck were better. Desserts and chessboard were good and there’s a decent wine list. Service was good despite being busy.

We ate in La Marine on Saturday night . Everything about the meal was just wonderful . We both had crab claws to start and they were so fresh and tasty. Then we had chicken and lamb. Both beautifully cooked , very decent portions and gorgeous vegetable and potato accompaniments. One dessert - roulade, was delicious. Wines were lovely , great glasses . Atmosphere was buzzing and service excellent. Cannot wait to go again !

I was in Wexford for the weekend with family and La Marine Bistro is a great place for lunch. I had smoked salmon which was delicious and the others enjoyed theirs. The staff are lovely and helpful. The place is tidy and there is a relaxed atmosphere.
