The food was very nice but the overall impression was very bad- the bistro host / table reservations guy who meets people at the door and shows them to their table was unbelievably rude, arrogant and snotty. He acted like he was doing us a...huge favour by doing his job and like he was a royalty who had to deal with some annoying crowd. Our reservation was for 6pm, we have arrived at 5:45 with two elderly relatives ( in their 70s). The host guy was very annoyed with us and sticked his watch into our faces to show we were 15 min early. He refused to give us a table because we have arrived 15 min earlier. He told us ( and he sounded seriously annoyed and angry) that if he will give us a table early , then everyone will start arriving early. Our parents who are in their late 70s with a lot of health problems had to stand there on the street just outside the bistro entrance and to wait for 15 minutes until it was exactly 6pm. The host refused to provide a table to have a drink before the meal etc. When we finally got a table, he barked at us that we can only have a table for 2 hours and must vacate the table at 8pm. Thankfully other staff was serving our meal and we did not have to deal with this guy during our meal. We totally appreciate Covid and restrictions make everything difficult but nothing can excuse such poor behaviour , unprofessionalism , rudeness and unhelpfullness. We had to book a table for the next day and the same host booked it for us in the same rude and arrogant manner again, everything was too much of a trouble and like he was just doing us such a huge favour. We have actually cancelled our second reservation later because we did not want to see and deal with this rude and arrogant person again. We are shocked - usually the staff in Kelly's are very nice and pleasant.More

La Marine Bistro is part of the Kelly's Hotel operation. If you are a guest in the hotel you may dine indoors. If you are a passing tourist you are welcome to dine outdoors - at a table under the sun or under a marquee...that is heated. It is a popular spot and it may be wise to book a table in advance to avoid disappointment. The staff are warm and welcoming and very efficient. There is a good variety of food options on the menu, and the food itself is very tasty. Not overly expensive, but in the mid-price range. There is a lovely holiday feel to the outdoors area. As always Kelly's Resort never fails to satisfy. Beautiful meal for two adults and two kids. Staff so friendly and efficient. Felt very safe with all Covid procedures in place with hand sanitisers, all staff wearing face covering etc. Food was beautiful and we can't...wait to return. Thank you to Laura, Bill, Eamon & team.More

Myself, my wife and four of my extended family had a birthday celebration meal here. The food was excellent , particularly the monkfish, lamb and rib eye steak. The staff were top class and went out of their way to please and there was a...terrific ambience even in these difficult times. Highly recommended.More

On the rare occasion we have eaten out in this pandemic, people rarely ask about the meal ! It is ,what is the spacing like ,staff mask wearing ., disposable napkins etc . The latest recommendations that customers wear masks till seated etc was not...followed. Some staff masked , no management wearing masks . This was August 21st ., Surprised & dissapointed ! Staff lovely & our meal was good but not worth the risk !More

The meal was tasty, this is a step up from gastro pub fare , as you would expect from Kellys, and for these prices, but it was disconcerting to find that only about half of staff were wearing masks. Spacing between tables was good .

We had one of the best meals ever in La Marine last night. Delicious starters-duck and pasta, followed by superb hake and chicken-beautifully cooked and presented-so tasty! Paul-the manager-very professional, as are Sinead and Leeanne. Great food, great atmosphere, great service-we will be back!
