Loved this cafe last year at the back of the shop/deli understandably it was closed this year. I did get takeout coffee and french breakfast baps though and the quality is really good everything in the deli looks so tasty. I make a point of visiting here when in the area.

I thought I was asking the impossible with my request for a diabetic birthday cake. However, Phil and Patsy not only obliged but way exceeded expectations. The fantastic and delicious work of art they produced resulted in a wonderful birthday celebration all round. I cannot sufficiently praise the quality of the products and service plus the lovely atmosphere of the place. I strongly wish them every success especially at this difficult time.

This is my second review of this restaurant:
Staff are pleasant,
Food is delicious

What more do you need to know?
By the way, we visited in August so this review is way overdue but I wanted to share how we were so well looked after by the proprietor and the chef: My husband really enjoyed their chilli dressing and mentioned it to the server. The chef came out 5 minutes later and spent 10 minutes discussing the recipe and even wrote out the ingredients for him.
We also left with 2 giant Hellmans Mayonaise catering buckets, that were going spare - Thanks for that!

Just moved to the town was excited to see a shop that catered to vegetarians and sold environmentally consious products. However the service was horrendous. I ordered a green smoothie 6 euro pretty steep. As a staff member was making said smoothie I was repeatedly asked was I okay by a staff member adjacent to her and the same staff member as if I hadn't just ordered and was loitering. Found that strange. Although I was in front of her in side the shop and paid inside the shop my smoothie was placed out the window hatch. Smoothie wasn't smooth and had lumps of lemon in it which was disappointing for 6 euro. Despite this experience said I'd chance it again for a nice birthday gift for a friend. Shopping during covid is hard enough I had three staff members very attentively take turns following me around the small empty shop while I was browsing. However as I got to the till there was no staff. I had to make a return and met the manager who was arrogant, unapproachable and invasive. I won't be shopping or eating here and I recommend you don't either

This cafe has a nasty habit of overcharging customers, and has happened to me on more than one occasion... The staff are also treated terribly by the owners, and if you tip keep in mind that the owners are very shady about giving the tips to their staff. Please only go here if you want to be overcharged and treated rudely.

owner is horrible, seriously better to stay away from there. You can have the best food but if the experience and customer service is thiss horrible, what's the point. And food isn't great either

The Food was creative, colorful & delicious.
The salads come from Patsy & Philip’s own garden.
The Baker is Patsy , I had the passion fruit tart & my better half had the banoffi pie with fresh banana & cream , a work of art.
The seafood vol at vent was luxurious,
The staff were top notch ,
We will definitely eat here again ,

Food is okay but very expensive... especially when there seems to be a policy of overcharging - this has happened 3 times now, each time when served by the man in charge. I have also (like the previous comment) observed horrific bullying behaviour towards staff. I understand from overheating a conversation that tips are kept by the owners! I will be spending my money in the other lovely cafes in New Ross whom act with integrity!

Probably the best café in town. Homegrown tasty delights, from salads, soups, sandwiches... to desserts to die for! Really good coffee and a superb deli and shop.

Took my mum out to lunch. Nicely presented cafe in a quiet provincial town. I had lunch of tagliatelle four cheese with bacon. This was superb. My mum had the luxury seafood cake. This was basically a round fish cake done in panko crumbs. I tasted it and again superb. Good portions, well presented and I thought good value for €30. I would definitely revisit.

Dropped in here on a Wednesday around 11.
great warm welcome from all the staff, Tom our young server was great, also set my phone up on the free WiFi - Top man!
looked at the menu - Decided on an Irish Panini and skinny fries... with a super cold 7Up
Food came and WOW god size portion, so hot and very very tasty :-)
During our visit I got to meet Patsy - asked here where the "nutshell" name came from, was lovely to chat to her.
I would highly recommend and I will return, great food and great staff :-)

Went here just for a tea and coffee, really nice strong coffee and a good pot of Gold Blend Tea. Staff were very friendly and service was good. We didn’t eat here but the food being served looked good, the bread and butter pudding looked to die for.

Went there for lunch, food was good but way overpriced. Service was friendly albeit a bit slow. One crepe with chocolate spread and marshmallows was €8.95.
