Kyoto Asian street food offers a different experience by bringing Asian street food to you. Upon entering the restaurant, you are kindly guided to a table and presented with the vast menu, that’s not only easy to read, but has everything where it needs to be. Now to the main part, THE FOOOOOD. The food is amazing. Priced reasonably, you are presented with big portions leaving you satisfied. You can choose from a wide array of sushi’s & rolls as well as your normal noodle dishes which come with Won Ton soup. You can also chose from duck, beef, chicken & pork. My favourite dish to get is the chicken tatsutage. You can chose from noodles or rice with your dish. The quality is exceptional as you notice when it comes out. You also get Won Ton soup which is also very special. I also usually get the small sushi which is a mixture of different fishes in rolled form. Great quality and exceptional taste, you won’t be disappointed by your visit to Kyoto!

I awarded Kyoto 5 stars for the top quality food. It really is delicious. I had the chicken with cashew and chilli, the flavour was amazing! Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his chicken tatsutaage. This restaurant is not fine dining. Don’t let the outside ‘take away’ look put you off. If you want scrumptious Asian food then this is the place for you. The decor could definitely do with a revamp and the paintwork is shoddy in places. However, the restaurant was spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and efficient. The varied menu is competitively priced (€5 for a glass of wine!) so it’s easy on the pocket too. All in all, a super choice.

Booked online a table for my son's Birthday as he is very into Japanese culture. Received confirmation immediately,which was a good start. The best was yet to come... Beautiful food, really Japanese experience, sushi to die for (first time trying octopus), large portions and despite how much I loved my main-wasn't able to finish (was asked immediately if I wanted to have it with me as take away), fresh, tasty, simply delicious;lovely staff, very attentive and kind. Simple, on modest side decor, but food made it up for us. At the end we received a complimentary dessert for a Birthday Boy, which was lovely for the staff to remember about, as I only mention it in my email. My son just loved the Banana Katsu, not to mention the dessert surprise made him feel speciaI. I didn't even know they had desserts on their menu. Overall fantastic time, we loved everything we had there. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back.

Went to Kyoto tonight as I do every few weeks I loved this place ...I got prawns tonight and they came out and the smell and taste was absolutely unbearable . When we notified a member of staff we were told that they were fresh prawns and they proceeded to charge us anyway. I will not be returning here ever again as I am a regular customer and am absolutely appalled by the service I have received tonight

We are so sorry that this happened to you. As you know, we are fairly busy on weekends especially on night time, we serve at least few hundred people a day. Our chefs tend to try their best to serve you with the best food but sometimes it can be difficult to get perfect solutions for both sides. We always appreciate that customer give us feedback straight away so that we can get you the best possible solution at that moment. As the situation, we did offer you to change a new main course but you kindly declined us. It is not an option to get you free of charge from any kind of services. As our regulars you know that we don't normally have any problems with our meal and we will always welcome you to give us another try.

I booked this restaurant for a Saturday night two weeks in advance. I confirmed the booking the Thursday before and once again when they rang on Saturday afternoon. There was no mention of a problem but it was later obvious that they had overbooked. We were left standing in the doorway with two other groups for a half hour. Our group of seven were then asked to share a table with another group of four who were already seated . ( Not fair on either group but we were tired of standing ) . Although slow we had no complaints about the food. At one point a waitress spilt alot of water onto the bench and floor between two of our group and barely mopped it up leaving it to the person sitting there to sort. I was also not impressed that when paying ,the staff member held the card machine in his hand and watched me keying in my code. I again was not impressed that without asking a tip had been added to my bill. ( Although I pay by card I always leave a cash tip at my own discretion). As I was treating my group I did not complain on the night as I didn't want to ruin the night any more. I have however since contacted the restaurant via its own website and have not even received an acknowledgement . I am disappointed as I had eaten here many times and would previously recommended the restaurant to others.

Terrible attitude and manners from the staff. I have been a long time customer but will never return here. Upon my visit today I ordered the salmon hosomaki and the spicy tuna and requested water for the table. The waitress grunted in response went to the register and came back abruptly to tell me that there was a minimum service charge and that she would not serve us until we had spent more! This has never been in place before and is stated absolutely no where. Very shocking behavior as this was always my go to order. Avoid if you want a pleasant dining experience and unfortunately you will not find good sushi or Japanese food in Waterford city.

Went for lunch today. Katsu curry was a lump of stodge rice. Curry sauce with so much gelatine it had a skin on top and the chicken was cheap frozen crap.
First time I ever complained but I'm sick of spending hard earned money on food thrown on a plate. The waitresses were condescending explaining that this was japanese food. Its not. I'm not a fussy eater at all. Very sub standard. I was charged for my meal.

Overall we were disappointed with our recent lunch, as two people in our group ordered versions of the same curry and the sauce was really not good. Everyone else enjoyed their dishes and our starters were good. The soft drinks we ordered were served in glasses - not by can or bottle - and not very fizzy - a small matter if the food was great. We were particularly disappointed though as previously this would have been one of our favourite Asian restaurants in Waterford and when it first opened the food was really tasty. Service was polite and efficient as usual. However, we won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Service is great here, always happy and friendly waiting staff.
This is my favourite Asian restaurant to visit in Waterford because the food is so fresh and tender unlike the majority of Asian restaurants where the meats tend to be chewy and almost fake.
Sushi menu has great seafood options and is a must for sushi lovers.
Fantastic share options available for people trying sushi or having a big party.
Extremely good food.

My wife and I get a takeaway from here every weekend. The food is always fresh and delicious. The sushi is very tasty but by far the best thing on the menu is the masaman curry. We’ve eaten in the restaurant a few times also and the service is excellent. This is one of the best restaurants in Waterford city. Would highly recommend!

Myself and my partner had a lovely meal here. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. My partner had no complaints, However I am coeliac and ordered the Massaman Curry because according to the menu there was no gluten in it. I also asked for it to be gluten free. However quickly after eating my meal I became unwell. Although the food was very nice, the food is defiantly not Coeliac friendly and I was not made aware of this when ordering.

I've eaten here for years but the last 3 times I visited I left unhappy, I'm done now I won't be back. My issue is with their sashimi. The last time I got it I couldn't chew it, it was awful, they balmed their vendor. I know about sushi, I know about sushi grade fish.. Today I brought in my friend who was visiting from France. We ordered over €60 worth if food (sushi pigs, I know 😂) I had no issue with the rest of the food, just the sashimi cut and the girls attitude.. I couldn't eat the tuna so I suggested I pay for half but she disagreed. If you know what good sushi and sashimi is then I would avoid this restaurant.

We had beautiful tempura prawns and tuna sushi for starter. For main course we had seafood on delicious egg fried rice and haddock in tempura batter. The white wine and Tiger beer went very well with what we chose.
Service was very quick and attentive. A great choice for our night in Waterford.
The prawns in both dishes were very fresh and the best I have had anywhere in years.

Lovely little gem in Waterford. I was in Waterford with my Son for a sporting event on the Sunday and visited on Saturday evening. When we arrived the queue was out the door and we thought we would not get a table. However, much to our delight they were waiting for take-out. It is nothing fancy inside (wooden benches at all tables) but the FOOD is AMAZING. We started with Gyoza Dumpling dish, then the Jo Moriawase (€35) and also a Norimaki Prawn & Avacado all to share. We could not fault any of it. Staff were lovely too. Would defo return when in Waterford again.

Stumbled on this restaurant by accident. Great find. Could not fault the food or the variety of food on offer. Obviously very popular as there was a constant stream of customers coming through the door, many of them appearing as regulars. Portions were very generous so pace yourself ! Good value for money too.
