Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We sought out this pub as we wanted a good Irish stew and were not disappointed. Met with a cheery smile in the pouring rain, a good pint of Guinness and hearty food. Worth seeking out this pub which is at the opposite end of...the town to tower but near the distillery.More

Welcomed as soon as we walked in. Food was excellent, Irish Stew. Christmas pudding, in June, for dessert was finished in a flash. Service was personal.

We walked to the Grattan because it was recommendes and we weren't disappointed. Even on a quiet Tuesday lunchtime the food and welcome were excellent. I had the roast beef dinner and my wife had the bacon ribs from the specials board. Good sized portions,...perfectly cooked veg and creamy mash. All washed down with the complusory guinness! I would really recommend the Gratton.More

We met old UK friends off their tour ship and adjourned to the Grattan for a couple of hours catch up. We were given a big table to spread family photos, eat bacon and cabbage ( boiled ham really for non Irish visitors) and drink...coffee. We were fussed over and awarded a lollipop when we finished the delicious food! We were really grateful to the Grattan for a memorable visit.More

Outstanding Irish Pub. Bartender Christian did an excellent job explaining the menu and serving our drinks and food! Don’t let the exterior fool you, the inside is a hidden gem!

We came upon this delightful pub on a weekday night and were immediately enveloped in a friendly and fun atmosphere. The bartender, Christian was engaging and helpful. I ate a hearty Irish stew that was flavored just right and put back a couple of perfectly...poured Guinness stout. My wife enjoyed her traditional fish & chips with the Rockshore Lager and my son enjoyed his large well cooked hamburger. My daughter’s lasagna was flavorful but could’ve benefited from more pasta. The other daughter’s squash soup was a tasty vegetarian option. Capping off our magical evening was karaoke. Some friendly locals helped us find a hotel nearby, even letting us use their cell phone to make the reservation.More

This was my favorite stop in Ireland, the atmosphere was incredible and the people were even better. They had karaoke and it was the best time I had on my trip. This is a must visit place.

Great spot for some lunch! The man that owns it made us feel so welcome and we got a great laugh off him, we came for lunch and we got the bbq chicken wings and chips. Perfect size portions and probably the nicest chicken wings...I ever had, the chicken just fell off the bone, so fresh! Defo worth a visit for some food!More

Stopped by on a Sunday evening for dinner and it's the best choice we could have made. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Beer was cold. We had the spicy chicken wings- super tender and delicious. We also had soup and the roast beef. Both...were great. Highly recommend!More

We received an amazing reception from Marta and the team.. myself and my family were home for the bank holiday weekend.. and we were a group of 8, they could not do enough for us.. I'm gluten and dairy free and Marta made sure my...meal was appropriate, very big portions and a very big generous welcome. Everyone agreed the fish and chips and Irish stew were gorgeous. While we were there a group of'lads' turned up turned up and started a session, just singing along to a guitar and my daughter Cara was invited to play and sang..every one was very kind and the craic was mighty. Thank you so much for your big hearty Irish welcome Marta.. we will be back... This is what I love about being home... service and kindness are just natural and effortless.. Go raibh mile maith agat.More
