Fantastic Italian food for all the family

Had a family meal here recently and the place is excellent. The food, atmosphere and service is authentically Italian ( with a few items on the menu to cater for Irish demands - butter portions and garlic mushrooms !). Loved the soup and the seafood pasta. Delicious. Our table also raved about their fish mains. Top marks to the team at Emilianos. A winning combination that demonstrates when you bring excellent service and great local ingredients together you can successfully recreate the taste and experience you get when in Italy. Owner has a nut allergy so they’re well able to handle any food allergy requirements. Tip : Book ahead it’s a busy family spot. Tip : Portions are generous so order accordingly.

Been coming here for 20 years. The menu hasn’t changed much over that period but that’s because it doesn’t need to. Emiliano gets the mix perfect for his restaurant which is very tasty food, accessible from a price perspective whilst in a very welcoming environment with very attentive staff. None of this happens overnight, all of which is achieved with a strive for excellence & attention to detail. Personally I plan on continuing to come here for special occasions for the next 20 years and look forward to many more excellent meals. Personal favorites include the mussels starter, seafood pasta and of course their Pizza Napoli. PS - adherence and compliance to COVID standards were excellent on our most recent visit.

Best meal, atmosphere and service ever!

Well what can I say as the title speaks for itself but simply WOW! I visited this restaurant around 6-7 years ago with my partner and although I thought it was good I never raved about it as much as I did yesterday, I had read all the 5 * reviews so I knew I had to give it ago, and booked it for my partners sons confirmation meal. From the beautiful thick crusty bread with butter and oil on the side, to the huge bowls of beautiful vegetable soup that was actually full to the brim with fresh veg that you could actually see and taste, to all the very generously sized main courses - mine was a delicious creamy linguine pasta with strips of beef, my partners a delicious plate of racks of lamb bursting with sides of crispy roast potatoes, green beans, mint sauce and pepper sauce (like a Christmas dinner it was so generous!), and the kids were delighted with their huge pizzas which one said was the best he ever tasted, my stepdaughter adored her cannelloni pasta and the youngest had a very generous portion of strips of steak and crispy roast potatoes which he loved too! And let’s not forget about the amazing desserts - crunchy caramel cheesecake for 3 of us which was delicious and generous in size, while my stepdaughter could barely finish the heavy but heavenly chocolate fondant and the confirmation boy adored the delicious scoops of ice cream which came in various flavors, even my tea was lovely because it was boiling hot and not lukewarm like in most restaurants, and my partner said the cappuccino was faultless too. And finally the lovely service, attentiveness and distinctive but warm humour from the staff, they really made it too. I have it booked again for my step sons communion in a months time I was that impressed, please just do it and go here you will never look back

Authentic and all good

Came here with our 3 kids and 5 big appetites after completing the greenway. It’s like a little corner of Italy in Waterford city. We both had the burrata special to start and would drive from Dublin for it again if forewarned it was available, delicious. The fish stew special for main course was equally good served with perfect roast potatoes which the kids robbed, green beans and creamed spinach. Others all had excellent pizzas and gelato to finish. I only had room for a very good Italian espresso. Wish we had an Italian restaurant as good in Dublin. I look forward to our next visit.

My wife and l enjoyed a magnificent meal together at this beautiful restaurant. We arrived in time for the early bird menu. Both had three courses and a bottle of red wine all for under 100 euros. Great value and the quality was excellent. Highly recommended All the staff wore masks we felt very comfortable and safe. Thank you Emillianos

The title says it all, I like to think I am not a creature of habit yet these 2 dishes leave me feeling so satisfied and happy that I just have to order them everytime, winter or summer. When combined with the friendly and attentive service I have never left Emilianos feeling disappointed... luckily I am not a dessert guy as by the time I have finished my 2 courses and the delicious leftovers of my family I can barely waddle the door! See you soon😉

Great Italian evening

Lovely atmospheric Italian restaurant. The starters were amazing and the mains were delicious but portions too large for us. (Good complaint!). Very good service and lovely strong coffee to finish. Totally recommended if visiting Waterford and you want an Italian. Just be wary of the size and rich portions...bring your appetite

Amazing Italian Food!

I came here with my family on a weekend away after reading all the great reviews and we were not disappointed! Both the food and service were amazing, we had pizzas, pasta and fish and couldn't fault anything. My dad had one of the specials, he was blown away by it. Desserts were lovely too, we had the homemade gelato and really enjoyed it. We loved this restaurant so much that we came back the next night, and were equally happy with our meals. Even the bread they give you before your meal is delicious. We can't recommend Emiliano's highly enough!

Staff are trained to the highest quality, extremely knowledgable and friendly. Emilio is a hands on owner making everybody feel a million dollars coming in the door. For the food, sensational. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients that go into every dish. A personal favourite has to be the fillet of beef steak with a pepper and mushroom sauce to die for. I've been trying to find a nicer steak anywhere I have travelled to and nowhere comes close. Something for everybody on the menu. 5 Stars.

True Italian in the heart of Waterford

Great place, all the staff being Italian gave me a sense of immediate security about the food. From the warm bread on the table, to the great quality olive oil served, the attentiveness of the waiting staff that looked at me enjoying a simple bread dipped in olive oil and offered me some balsamic the experience was excellent. Then you add the food. it was true and authentic, the daily specials were truly special. In a nutshell, definitely worth a visit and I will come back.

A Triumph!

We had our family meal today at Emilianos to celebrate my son's Holy Communion. I cannot praise the staff here highly enough for their attentiveness to everyone, most especially the children. They were treated to magic tricks which had them spellbound and was so much fun. The food is absolutely incredible we all ate a variety of dishes from the extensive menu and everything was cooked and presented perfectly. This truly is authentic exquisitely executed Italian food and I cannot wait to return. Thank you so much to Emiliano and all of the staff for making my son's and family's day so special and enjoyable!

This was my first visit to Emilianos and certainly not my last. We had a table of four and everyone's food was amazing, my husband doesn't eat pasta or pizza so he chose the Fillet of Beef with wild mushroom sauce on the side and it was fabulous. It was a very busy night however service was excellent with Valentino looking after us.

What a gem of a restaurant. Real Italian food served by Italian waiters. From the moment you step in through the door you feel like you are experiencing a little piece of Italy. Warm, cosy, authentic interior, friendly staff, efficient service, attention to detail and wonderful, tasty food. I’ve eaten here a few times and each time the service and food has been fabulous. The menu caters for every taste with a list of specials every day. Very well priced for the portion size, ingredients used, taste and presentation. I usually have the prawn and lemon linguine and it never fails to satisfy. I’ve never sampled the dessert menu as I’m usually too full from the main course, but I m sure it’s as wonderful as everything else served here.

This is a wonderful buzzy restaurant, managed with skill and consistency to great effect. Service is friendly and efficient and the food arrives in good time. We had a minor blip over one food item, but this was managed appropriately and resolved to our satisfaction. We were all very happy with our dishes and loved the kind gesture of a complimentary liquor at the end of our meal.

I had dinner here with my fiance while staying in Waterford and we both loved it. The food was amazing, really good genuine Italian food, and the service was excellent. We were served by and chatted to Emiliano himself who was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend eating here if you are going to be in Waterford. It was the best place we went to eat while we were staying here. Great experience!
