An authentic Indian restaurant, we opened our doors in 2007 and have been enjoying it ever since. We normally do eat in and out and have a beautiful function room upstairs looking over the river that seats up to 50 guests. We never use artificial flavorings and all ingredients are sourced from local farmers and producers, alongside traditional Indian ingredients. Enjoy a delicious and irresistible Indian meal in our beautiful restaurant complete with a relaxing atmosphere. Now you can have that restaurant experience in your own home with our Indian takeaway. Superb Indian cuisine

We were in waterford on Sunday night fancied a Indian meal and stopped at cafe goa. On entering we were greeted by a member of staff in a friendly manner and got seated immeadietly had a staff member come with menu and brought their little sample sauces and poppodaums to the table which we found delightful while maki g up our minds. Such a menu to choose from we had starters of onion bhaji and tandorri chicken and followed by goan prawn curry and korma curry and peshwari naan to die for. Such a busy little spot for freshness and taste it gets my no 1. Being to goa myself it's got to be the most authentic food I've ever tasted in Ireland.

The best indian I've ever eaten

The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious. I had the chicken korma and it was undoubtedly the best one I have ever eaten. The staff were really friendly and efficient. We have already returned since our first visit. I would highly recommend.

Helpful and friendly staff. Checked Covid vaccination certs and ID at entry. Plenty room between tables. Restaurant was clean. The food was very tasty and well cooked. Good portion sizes. Would go again.

Burnt, cold and not worth your money!

Placed an order an hour before picking it up, food was cold and burnt when we got it. Gave us 1 wrong dish, and forgot some of our sides. The chicken was very dry. We rang them to complain and all they offered us was a 20€ voucher, even tho the meal all together was approximately 100€ . Waste of your money going to this place!

Great food, rushed service.

Really good food, highly recommended. However a very poor experience overall. Within 4 or 5 minutes of sitting down I was asked 4 times if I was ready to order....I was not. Then the owner/boss arrived to once again ask if I was ready to order. I asked for "2 minutes" and was told, "yes only 2 minutes as we run a small restaurant with few tables" When the food arrived it was excellent, could not fault it in any way, BUT I felt rushed and the attitude seemed to be....get them in and out as quickly as possible. Great food but not everybody wants to gulp down food and leave....SLOW DOWN.

Tasty food but room for mprovement

Rice portion sizes are very small from what you would expect, compared to other Indian restaurants. . Meat is scarce also in the main dishes so you definitely notice these things. Dips are very tiny, mint sauce etc so that's a bit annoying having to ask for more.. Just give a decent size dip in the first place. Otherwise the food is nice and tasty but improvements in the above would make a huge difference. After all you're paying enough for it. Staff are very friendly and the service was really good. No complaints there.

Horrible experience

Very unprofessional behaviour from the manager(owner), he took all our orders (me and my friends ) without us even opening the menu is that even ok . Ps. The main is not really a main , the food is mediocre and the food is extremely over priced we all paid 19 euro for a small bowl of rice and curry with small for pieces of chicken . I definitely don’t recommend this place , we are never going back 👎 Ps over the owner will sell you a dream when the food tastes like it has been reheated from Tesco and comes in small portions. I really hope a lot of you can see this comment and avoid this scam of a place 😡.

Warm & Welcoming on a cold and rainy night!

On the 2nd last day of our 19 day UK tour, my son and I were craving food with FLAVOUR! We felt that, for the most part, through all 4 countries, we had been staring down almost identical menus, unless we made Herculean efforts to suss out hidden gems. We had had fruitless searches for what we expected to be in abundance - lamb, Cornish pasties, roast beef & Yorkshire pudding, etc. Instead, we had been met with chicken, cod and the like. But we scored in this warm, welcoming and friendly establishment. Just enough conviviality to make it a fun night out, not so much ambiance as to overwhelm! The food was delicious - served hot and timely - a large menu with something for everyone and plenty of naan and dips to add the final touch. I highly recommend!

Glad They Were Open

There were very few options to eat on a Monday evening close to the hotel in Waterford, where we were staying. This restaurant seemed to be very popular with locals so we thought we would try it. We both had chicken sag and shared some rice. The staff were efficient and pleasant.

Disappointed

I was greeted by a lovely young lady, who seemed to be head of front of house. She had great customer service skills. My disappointment started with the wine. It wasn't at all nice. I mentioned this to the lady and she looked after me by allowing me to taste the other option. Neither wine was nice. My starter pakora prawns had no Indian flavours just sweet chili sauce. The main course was not as flavoursome as I previously tasted. The young lady who seemed in charge of the floor saved this from getting a one star. I don't think I will be back.

Worst Indian Restaurant

I recently had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The food was awful; the paneer, mutton, and chicken were all tough and tasted like they were old. It was barely edible. The most unpleasant part of the visit was the senior lady in charge. She had no idea how to handle feedback. When we mentioned that the food was subpar, she insulted us by saying we had no taste. When we decided to pay and leave without finishing our meal, she started yelling and shoving us. Her daughter had to physically hold her back. I strongly advise against going to this restaurant. The food is bad, and the service is even worse. Do yourself a favor and dine elsewhere.

Amazing food, great service but rather a chaotic experience

A very busy restaurant, despite booking I was seated at a tiny table next to a door with customers/staff walking past me every few seconds. Mine was the only table with no flowers in a little vase 😕 The noise level was quite dramatic due to a couple of large groups. I struggled to be understood when trying to order a takeaway to be ready for when I’d finished my sit down meal. Apart from that the food was superb & excellent service. I would definitely recommend Cafe Goa to anyone visiting Waterford who enjoys Indian cuisine. Just be prepared for a little chaos!

Excellent Food and Service

Wonderful food and excellent service! The Prawn Korma was delicious, as was the tandori chicken. The Tikki Masala was a little too sweet for our liking but still very good. They had a cool little beer glass that I tried to buy and they said no, but when we were leaving the owners gave me the glass to take for free. :) We will definately would return to dine again.

Delicious food and warm welcome

A lovely little restaurant just by the river with delicious Indian food and friendly staff. My friend and I ended our meal with a traditional chai tea and it tasted amazingly good; a real treat! The owner is passionate and keen to share his knowledge of Indian food and culture. The room upstairs is beautifully decorated and would be perfect for a group outing. Highly recommend!

Amazing food. 👏 Best indian food ive has in Ireland. Healthy too very little oil used. Intimste atmophere, very helpful staff and chef came to see that we happy with everything. Be my go to spot from now on.
