This was my second time at bodega and they did not disappoint. Great selection (meat, seafood, vegetarian) and good size portions. The food was well seasoned, tasty and at a fair price. The restaurant was beautiful and staff were friendly.

First let me say that I am a foodie from Louisiana where eating and drinking are competitive sports. Bodega has a good wine list. The espresso martini is the best I've had anywhere as is the duck confit and pork belly which was very lean...More

A welcoming establishment coupled with professional friendly service and great food made our day after driving from Dublin. We like the idea of small plates if one does not want too much. We shared a cup of soup, starter and a sandwich. While the prawns...More

Wow from the very start to the end of our visit. Food was just heavenly. You MUST try their patè. Lovely atmosphere, great wine. Bathroom was small BUT spotlessly clean, very well equipped. Cannot wait to get back there and eat more. Loads more.

A simple starter but an unusual one for me. An egg wrapped in cod with a crunchy coat. A lovely fishing port take on a scotch egg. But then everything was just that little bit different - in a good way. Good ingredients, well prepared...More

Description
In the heart of Waterford City is a restaurant that champions the local food experience. Vaguely Spanish in decor with a funky eclectic mix of food and ambiance that may well be described as Mediterranean. Most definitely, not a conventional Irish restaurant experience. Critics and regulars alike acknowledge this place is fun and different. With early bird menus from €23, this is an affordable treat in a relaxed atmosphere. But it's worth persevering according to the critics:" With its warm Mediterranean colour, this place would bring the sun out on the darkest of days" Georgina Campbell "Much loved menu that hits all the right buttons" The Irish Times"It's a dream vision of owners - Cormac & Donagh - who stamp their left field imprimatur on the excellent food & the fine drinks that make folk flock here in their droves" John & Sally McKenna"Bodega! Gives the taste of the med, and also the vigour & joie de vivre of the med" Bridgestone Guide
