Having eaten in Hooked a number of times it’s sister restaurant Eala Bhan deserved a visit after recommendations from friends. It was excellent from start to finish. An amuse bouche was a lovely touch and the special of pork two ways with a dessert and coffee for €14.95 was great value. The whole experience was greatly helped by the friendly, professional staff. Definitely worth a visit and a return for an evening meal is already planned.

Have had the pleasure of dining in Eala Bhan on another visit to Sligo. There is always a lovely welcome from Anthony and staff which creates a warm atmosphere for the diners. Our meal was outstanding, the scallops were beautifully cooked and the sticky beef stir fry was so delicious, my favourite starter. Those in our group who had steak, both fillet & sirloin said it was cooked to perfection. I tried the vegetable wellington on this occasion and it didn’t disappoint. If looking for a great place to eat, with delicious food, friendly & efficient service with a great atmosphere and lovely surroundings Eala Bhan is number 1 on my list. I highly recommend dining in this multi award winning restaurant which takes great pride in serving excellence on a plate and passionate that the customer’s experience is a wonderful one. Looking forward to my next visit

I booked this resturant on a recommedation while visiting Sligo overnight, although the resturant had not our names in the book (had got a confirmation email) the resturant was quite so there was no issue getting a table.
We were greeted by a lovely waitress who showed us to our table and took our coats. I ordered steak, my husband lamb & hands down this was the nicest meal we have had out in a long time. The whole meal was absolutely fabulous. We were given complimentary taster of soup and some home made bread absolutely beautiful. Our starters were pork belly and beef salad again beautiful food, the high light was the mains there were top class. I only wish we had room for dessert!!!
I also had wine which was really nice.
The menu is really impressive and we felt worth every penny.
Will absolutely book again next time we visit sligo and will also recommend to anyone I know visiting.
Congrats on a beautiful resturant.

Hands down one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Not only was the presentation absolutely outstanding but the taste of everything was just superb. I could eat the fish cake Bon noms all day. The fish was fresh and full of flavour. I never usually order steak whilst dining out but the fillet steak was cooked to perfection and was a beautiful piece of meat and the tempura prawn skewer was the icing on the cake. Only downside would be that a side dish is not included with the main. The dessert was the real show stopper though. I ordered the strawberry baileys panna cotta that was served with a chocolate and candy floss tree. I will be dreaming about this restaurant for the foreseeable future and I am already looking for an excuse to return to Sligo to visit this restaurant.

The food here is streets ahead of many places in the northwest. Its always a delight to find a place that the atmosphere, staff, food and owner leaves an impression!
You will have to travel far and wide to find better cooking and a better selection of outstanding dishes to choose from.
Taste of the Sea starter was immense, scallop cooked perfectly and prawn kataifi was spot on, the foam packed a punch and the bon bon was really nicely flavoured. Next was a Fillet Steak, I haven't had a steak cooked that well in ages, its likely I won't again for a while too!! Kudos to the man on the grill and the farmer whom reared that meat. Exceptional!! Then the desserts... the attention to desserts can escape some kitchen teams, certainly not here... the panna cotta and candy floss was as visually stunning as it was tastey... the chocolate surprise was any chocolate lovers paradise!!
Its certainly not dear either, I was actually quite shocked at the bill, it should have been far more for that standard.
See you in a few weeks!

We ate at An Eala Bhán Friday evening, and were thoroughly disappointed with the experience. Our main gripe is that the main course just didn’t live up to its price. We ordered a fish dish served with a risotto mix. The plates arrived each containing 2 unacceptably small slithers of cod and sea bass. The risotto rice was not thoroughly cooked and was overloaded with salt. Of course, there was the obligatory “arty” presentation, giving the illusion of grandeur. This main course cost €32 each - totally overpriced for what we received.
When we complained, the chef said he knew what went wrong with the risotto and apologized. This did nothing to improve our opinion on this restaurant, on the contrary. Why serve it at all in that case?
We won’t make the same mistake twice.

Wow, fantastic food from starters to desert. The butternut squash soup & fish cake starter was delicious. The complementry cup of soup & bread was such a gem.The vegetarian mushroom lasagne with blue cheese, which was a first for me was so tasty, along with the special which was medallions of beef that my other half had. The desert was presented beautifully as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. The waiting staff were so pleasant & then to have Anthony the owner visit each table to ask if everything was ok was such a gesture. Definitely recommend Eala Bhan & Hooked for anyone visiting Sligo. Not enough stars for these restaurants on Trip Advisor

Had an excellent meal here tonight. Top-class restaurant with great service and superb food. My rack of lamb was perfectly cooked and my wife's trio of fish was delicious as well. I would definitely recommend this restaurant as a fine-dining treat.

There were four in our group and we popped in for lunch while bridesmaid dress shopping! So it was a walk-in without knowing anything about it! We found a gem!!
Everything about the place is welcoming from you walk through the door. The menu has great variety and in truth I could have ordered every dish in the menu!!
Our group had beef stir fry, prawn linguini and posh fish n chips (tempura prawn, tempura hake and chips) and all were beautifully presented, nice portions (not too much!) and very tasty. All plates clean! Sides of chips and potato gratin were also lovely.
Desserts on the menu were, again, varied and all sounded fab. We went for a creme brûlée and chocolate mousse. If we could have licked the dishes clean we would have!!
The service was great and very pleasant, not overly fussy but always close at hand if you wanted anything.
I couldn’t recommend this place enough!! So glad we found it!

A fabulous upmarket restaurant. Although they did not have a separate gluten free menu or a list of allergens the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about adjustments that could me made to make each meal suitable for coeliacs. I would like the option of some form of a gluten free cake for dessert instead of the usual panna cottas and ice creams.
Lovely restaurant, location, food and staff.

We ate dinner here while visiting Sligo.
This restaurant is situated right on the river and we ate outside,as Covid indoor dining regulations had not yet been lifted.
They have certainly made the most of the outdoor dining space and it looked inviting, luxurious and comfortable, with gorgeous cream leather seats,a beautiful canopy over the tables and expensive looking heat lamps - very elegant.
The menu is small but all food options sounded nice - we both chose the filet steak and had side orders of chunky chips and onion rings (the onion rings in particular were excellent!). There is a good selection of fine wines and beers, both of which we indulged in. Service was efficient and friendly and although it was quite expensive it felt like a treat and we would definitely dine here again.

Been a while since had dinner in this restaurant, given the current health restrictions, from the moment we turned up the staff were friendly and professional, taking care of us and making us feel safe yet excited in anticipation of the meal. Had the scallops to start followed by Fillet steak with a very creative pann a cotta candy floss tree desert. Table spacing was just right and staff could not be more helpful. Felt like a special occasion, fine dining at its best, yet still all the charm of a friendly restaurant, definitely recommend.

I spent this weekend in Sligo and ate at Eala Bhán both nights. It is fine dining but also with a relaxed atmosphere, two things which often don't go hand in hand unfortunately, and one of the things I really like about this restaurant! The trio of fish is the star of the show, I'm not a big fan of sea trout, but I would have eaten a plate of that sea trout! The service is superb, genuinely great, and both nights the staff were good enough to let me book a table for one, which is often difficult in a busy restaurant. Highly recommended and I'm looking forward to eating here again soon - it wouldn't be a trip to Sligo without it!

We visited prior to the latest lockdown. The service was excellent and the food was so well presented with a variety of flavours and an abundance of taste. The menu has a great choice and caters for everyone, recommending highly the Taste of the Sea starter and the lamb. The scallop starter and fillet steak excelled and all accompanied by a beautiful Spanish Red Wine. If there is room for dessert, the chocolate surprise was amazing as was a glass of dessert wine. The team at Eala Bhán were professional throughout so hopefully the Restaurant will be up and running again early in the New Year. It comes highly recommended.

Mediocre at best. Way overpriced for quality of food. Server was very rude regarding confusion about our order when we were presented with our main course, resulting in us having to call the manager. So many dishes included Newport Black or white pudding we wondered if the Chef had ordered too much. However, The pudding was the only good ingredient in the overcooked scallop dish. Wine by the glasses were limited and overpriced.
