Mixed review of the food. Some of our group enjoyed their meals, others were left disappointed. Personally my meal was fine other than I'd question the 'wild' mushrooms in my Wild Mushroom burger. What little mushrooms that were in the burger certainly weren't wild. But...only a minor complaint from myself. Two members of our group barely touched their mains. Those that ordered the prawn starters said they lacked flavor. The turkey club sandwich as a main left a lot to be desired. Given the layout it was difficult to get the attention of staff to order additional drinks etc. so we were left waiting for some time for a refill.More

We arrived here 2 weekends ago as a group of friends on a surfing trip. This pub/restaurant was recommended to us by friends. We had booked in for food somewhere else and headed here for some drinks afterwards. We had booked ahead and were not...told that they were only accepting reservations for people that were ordering food aswell as drink and not just drink. We had a circular table and the lady that greeted us was very nice and David led us to our table. He gave us menus and we advised we were only here for drinks. He then advised that we were very lucky to get a table on a Saturday night for just drinks in a very condescending manner. I totally understand places that need the business after Covid but please advise this over the phone. The substantial meal rule no longer applies so please advise this on all your bookings. We left after 1 drink each to another pub that had an open fire and the nicest of hospitality unlike this place.More

Booked here for a meal as the reviews on TA pushed me towards it. Great bar, great staff and creamy pints but unfortunately our food was not up the standards this establishment is known for. My starter was the chilli garlic prawns, prawns were cooked...perfectly and served with a tasty sauce. The chowder was perfect and can’t be faulted. Unfortunately it stopped there. I had the steak for mains, when it arrived to the table it looked impressive but then had to look for the steak which as covered in mushrooms, onions and greasy onion rings all of which left the steak sitting in grease and I didn’t really enjoy it. Pepper sauce and fry’s were perfect but it ya shame about the steak. The wife had the curry which was nice but a lot of grey meat in it which she didn’t eat. Overall an disappointing meal.More

Slimmed down menu but still plenty of choice. We both had burgers and they were delicious...proper thick burger and thankfully not cooked to death. Prices are about right. Service was friendly but there were significant gaps at time and because of layout it was extremely...difficult to attract attention...hence 4 stars and not 5.More

Had the pleasure of eating here last night. Fabulous service with a smile in this old pub fill of character and tradition. Very impressed with all the covid measures in place and staff consistently sanitising tables and their hands. Superb Fish & Chips - highly...recommended, as well as their burgers of which there are many choices. Drinks and food all reasonably priced. It gets busy so advisable to book your table. Definitely come here again next visit to Sligo. Great night out.More

We had drinks here and it has a great old atmosphere. Very cosy back room with an open fire. Not noisy. Good pint.
