Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is one of my husband's and mine regular food spots in Sligo. The service is good and the staff are friendly and the place has a good atmosphere. I didn't give 5 stars as most of the time the food is exceptional, however there...has been a few times when I have ordered something more simple like the chicken burger and it has been mediocre, so I can't give 5 stars. I find the best dishes are the seafood dishes which are hard to beat, will definitely be returning soon.More

Brought a prospective investor for my beautician business here to discuss over dinner. Was informed by elly (I think was her name) that there was no west coast cooler, but no matter! They had titos (never see that in Ireland!! I’m in Dubai a lot...so I only really get it there). Meal was good and chef clearly knew what he was at. Did not get the investment but thought the meal was good, sadly did not accept amex but I had my Visa card to be safe, will possibly return!!!!!!More

Used to eat there regularly and we always enjoyed but service & food gone downhill. Prices have gone up considerably which is understandable with the cost of living but €5.50 for sides too expensive. Went to the ladies bathroom and no toilet paper and place...was filthy. Overall not a great experience.More

Nice decor and atmosphere. Very good brown and herb bread with salted butter. Very good smoked salmon appetizer. Good beef shin appetizer. Lamb shoulder very good, with roast cabbage. Slowbraised beef shortrib very good, with breadcrumb whole carrot. Chocolate mousse, had too much gelatin so...a weird texture. Quick service. Clean cutlery and napkins between courses. Ladies bathroom could be cleaner.More

Brilliant blend of tastes Situated in the heart of the city centre ( Sligo, population ca. 20000) you can find this place. A little unprepossessing from the outside be assured of a warm welcome. Wisely a relatively limited menu with a great choice of fish....We had sole and halibut and both were prepared to perfection with a wonderful blend of flavours washes down with their Marlborough sauvignon blanc. I do nt think anyone would be disappointed.More

Recently back in Sligo for work and my colleagues and I booked into Bridgefoot for dinner. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent!! The ever changing menu full of delicious seasonal food is probably our favourite part. As a group who travel to the same...places we tend to fall into the same restaurants with the same menu but not when we come to Sligo ! It's always something new and exciting for us to try on the Bridgefoot menu. Have recommended to friends to pay a visit when they are in the lovely North West too! 10/10 from usMore

In a town like Sligo with no shortage of good eateries Bridgefoot House stands out for the quality of its offering in very pleasant surroundings right in the heart of town. Being a Saturday evening we had pre booked on the recommendation of our hosts...and were so pleased when Alan fitted us in as the food experience was exceptional. In this day and age it is refreshing to find staff who were both informative and passionate about every aspect of the food and wine on offer but all done in a calm and relaxed manner in keeping with the restaurant itself. We had well presented glazed lamb rib and slow cooked beef starters that exploded with flavour followed by mains of Lemon Sole and Halibut accompanied with the tastiest potatoes roasted in CPD butter. It is seldom that we forgo dessert but so inviting did the starters sound followed by quite delicious mains that we shared a strawberry cannoli to finish a superb dinner experience. We will definitely return here next time.More

My experience at Bridgefoot house was wonderful, place is amazing, it’s well located, staffs are very friendly and the food is the best I ever had, specially the deserts. I have tried many different dishes, and had great experience with them all. The only problem...I would say is not having more units around the country, as I highly recommend this restaurant!More

We stopped in for a late lunch after reading some great reviews here on trip advisor and were really disappointed! The restaurant was really quiet, maybe because it was late lunch time but we were seated, given our menus & told children can have chicken...& chips or fish & chips. I suppose at this stage we should have taken it as a bad sign and left if these were the only options available for children but we were committed at this stage. We weren’t offered a drink and wine glasses were promptly removed from the table. I thought maybe they would return to take drinks order but the waiter didn’t return until taking food order so we were left waiting. The food was just ok, I found it a bit too greasy for my liking and over seasoned. The service leaves a lot to be desired in my opinion, there were only 2 tables in at the time and after being brought our food my husband had to get up and order another drink, I noticed the one other table also had to do the same. Meanwhile 3 staff were standing chatting at the front of the restaurant. The waiter returned to clear the table and offer a dessert menu, no mention of dessert options for children so we chose one dessert to try, the cheesecake. Such a disappointment- obviously a disconstructed version of a cheesecake, with too much cheesy topping & very little crumble, we couldn’t finish it between us as it really was not pleasant. There are much better places to eat in Sligo and we left sorely disappointed that we had wasted our time and money eating here as it was far from a pleasurable experience. It felt like we were eating in a cafe trying to be a restaurant.More

A well enjoyed meal, however there were a few errors which we would not have expected especially at this price level (15e starters and 25-30e mains, excluding sides). The meat in the beef boulangere starter needed more seasoning, which was a shame. There was a...thread of fat/gristle in the slow cooked lamb shoulder. I asked for lemon sole without prawns (allergy) but I didn't think to ask the waiter if the chef could offer anything else with it instead. Subsequently, the fish came in brown butter with (possibly extra) samphire and unfortunately a few strands were slightly twiggy. In hindsight perhaps I should have asked for - or the chef or waiter could have suggested something complementary to the dish such as a few mussels, which were also on the menu? Or a few vegetables to go with the thin slices of potato dressing the sole? In any case, I was still charged the full amount for the dish, which didn't feel right although I appreciate this might be restaurant policy. We'd go back but for the Early Bird only.More

We chose Bridgefoot for a late family lunch on our visit to Sligo and were very impressed by the original and varied menu, friendly service and of course the excellent food at good prices. We were five adults and each had a different main course,...each of which was excellent. The chips are some of the best you’ll ever have! And a special mention for the hake with tomato and sardine sauce - my wife wanted to lick the plate clean. Lovely desserts too and great coffee to finish. Can’t speak too highly about this great restaurant - wish we could take it home with us.More
