Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My partner and I ate here on a Sunday evening, when many places in Sligo at this time of the year are closed. Desperate for something to eat, we stumbled across it down an alleyway in the centre of town and we were really pleasantly...surprised. It was relaxed, a nice mix of people, including families and couples, attentive staff, and the food was really good - all menus are apparently sourced from local suppliers. We enjoyed our meal (I had the gyro and my partner the pork belly), both of which were excellent. Staff were friendly, efficient, and the service overall was really good. Definitely one to recommend if you want a chilled dining experience, rather than a stuffy restaurant. Very good for families too.More

I loved the food, desert was amazing but for around 8 euro you get two tiny doughnuts, I think if they upped it to like 4 or 5 it would have been perfect. Music here is always way too loud unfortunately. They type of playlist...is also just obnoxious. A few tweaks and it would have been spot on.More

The restaurant is quirky and has a lovely vibe. Although restaurant was quite busy service was still very good. We had the Greek gyro and the chicken burger and would thoroughly recommend. Portions were large and food was absolutely delicious. Prices were very reasonable ....Would definitely recommend.More

What an experience. Cute, quirky little place, with really funky decor. The food was beautiful, especially the mini loaded fries which were next level. Hats off to Head Chef Becca. We had the pleasure of meeting her and what a talent she is. Cracker wee...spot, can’t wait to visit again next time we’re in Sligo. It’s a must!More

She rightly defined it as "quirky". I had my first Irish fish and chips there, and it didn't disappoint! My traveling companion had the burger and he was quite happy with it as well. The location, just off the river and in a super cute...part of Sligo makes it worth the walk there.More

Out of this world. Visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening and was blown again by the food and service we received! The Andarl Farm pork was mouthwatering and washed down by a local craft beer. Thank you for a great evening, we’ll be back!

Place is just okay but not worthy of the reviews or reputation. Food is average and overpriced. Service is extremely slow. Waited ages between courses and then only half the table cleared, half left sitting with dirty dishes in front of them. Staff all seem...like they’re on work experience and very unsure what they’re doing our order had to be checked multiple times. We were a group of over 6 and charged a hefty service charge which they really didn’t didn’t deserve. Also a few items added to bill we didn’t ask for. Restaurant itself is a bit chaotic and in need of a good clean.Required a high chair for my baby the chair we were given was absolutely filthy and rickety totally unfit for purpose.Cleanliness and smell of toilets was also disgusting.Public toilets are cleaner. I would not visit again based upon my experience. ** picture of base of high chair🤢**More

We visited Hooked at the weekend while visiting Sligo with friends. We had been here before 'Covid' and have to say it is every bit as good if not better than before. We were met by very friendly pleasant staff who were very attentive. Food...was excellent - the Pork Belly and Chicken burgers were very tasty, well presented and a joy to eat. We love the decor and general ambience in the restaurant and while looking out at the lovely Garavogue River - where could you get a better location. We all enjoyed a very relaxing evening with great food and drink in a lovely location! Well done to all!More

Food wasn't nice, service was abysmal with a service charge. best part was the view out the window, more than likely better to stay outside to look though.

Went on the off chance of a free table as it was our first night in Sligo and I had read about it on the internet. Welcomed-in and viewed menu. We both decided on the Chicken Kebab, salad and chips, after a short wait the...meal arrived and I must say it isn’t the same kebab you can’t remember eating the night before after a few drinks. The Pita bread was full of tasty chicken and salad which had a really good dressing. The chips were slightly seasoned with a spice which accompanied the Kebab. Both of us agreed the meal would have been ample without the chips and only managed to finish it, with no room for dessert. This restaurant is well worth the visit and very reasonably priced for the portion sizesMore
