Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We were strolling along by the harbour and dark clouds approaching followed rapidly by a deluge of rain prompted us to go for a coffee and bun at this nearby cafe. Busy bustling cafe, but thankfully we managed to get a table and were quickly given the menu and specials. All 3 of us were raging that we had already eaten breakfast and could only manage a coffee and bun as the brunch menu was so enticing and as we saw other people served their food around us it all looked amazing and only for our evening meal was booked and we were heading home the next day we would definitely have been back when we had bigger appetites. None the less our friendly server advised of the sweet treats on offer and we chose carrot cake, fruit scone and raspberry and white chocolate scone. All very tasty, good sized served alongside quality coffee. Nice quirky vibe to the place, friendly staff, enticing menu and reasonably priced - one that will be top of our list on our next visit.

We would to thank Mrs Burke and all her amazing staff for their great food and excellent service , no matter what time or day you eat here. This restaurant is so homely and their food is always so fresh and healthy. We have always enjoyed every visit here at the Creel.

Had an amazing brunch at The Creel on a recent visit to Westport. When we arrived there was a bit of a queue and the restaurant was fairly full and we could see why. Everything we ordered was really tasty, generous portions and quite reasonably priced. Staff were so lovely and friendly. Definitely recommended if you are visiting Westport.

Apart from the nearby hotel this was the only place open for lunch on a Thursday in mid-March.
Sandwiches and wraps were priced at €8.99 to include salad or fries. No reduction if ordered without the fries! Small issue but an annoying rip-off.
I opted for a cinnamon bun which was so stale I had to ask for it to be heated to make it edible.
Bad experience

Type of place where the descriptions of the food on the menus do not live up to expectations. The Rice Bowl special was bland and tasteless. Minimum of sauce and the pork wasn’t even marinated, no hint of salad. The fish tacos were dry, the fish goujons cooked to sand and again the sauce was non existent. Overpriced and tasteless. Westport needs to do better. Becoming a rip off town.

Stumbled in for a spot of brunch on a day out and blown away. One of the most child-friendly places I’ve ever been. Within seconds we got menus, water for the table and colouring for the kids. We went for fluffy bunny hot chocolates for the kids-which arrived at the perfect drinking temperature for kids (rare!), pot of tea (delicious), pancakes with Oreo’s (same) and the best eggs Benni my husband has ever had. Clean, friendly, efficient and only sad I spotted the cakes as we were leaving!

Had a lovely Mid Day meal here on Sunday last.. 2 of us with our toddler. We chose the fish tacos, chicken flat breads and a bowl of Granola for the child. I have to say we were both Very Happy with all. I tried the coffee afterwards and no complaints there. A small bit on the dear (a bit) side but for the quality, atmosphere and service we recieved it was acceptable. We will return when in Westport again.

Food was delicious, However we were left standing for quite a bit of time at the door. Once we got a seat it took about 15 minutes or more before we got asked if we would like to order. Just don’t be in a hurry up and if you’re eating here.

First off I want to say that the staff here are top notch and absolutely lovely. However, the food left a lot to be desired, at least in my case. I ordered the dish titled “Chicken Satay” off the menu. As a Satay fanatic, I was salivating waiting for my dish to come to the table. When the dish arrived, half the plate was salad leaves, I had a few chips and I was expecting a roll to be filled with delicious chicken with stunning Satay sauce lathered all over it. To my horror, I didn’t see any Satay sauce whatsoever on the plate and there wasn’t a peanut in sight. The roll was filled with rubbery chicken nuggets, some form of mayonnaise and a few chopped cucumbers. How on earth has this dish been named “Chicken Satay”??? I’m not a fussy eater so I ate it but if you are titling a dish Chicken Satay, please serve Satay. Disappointed

Visited on a Monday around midday on a recommendation. Staff at the door took our name and we were able to go on a short walk while we waited for a table. The food was well worth the wait, the portions are very generous and good variety on the menu. We felt the price was very fair and despite being really busy, covid precautions in place, you couldn't fault them on service or quality of food. Will definitely be passing on this reccoemndation to friends.

Visited on a recommendation from a friend of a friend. It was quite busy with staycationers, so they took our name at the door took our name and we had to wait for around 25-30 mins, but it was worth it.
The restaurant is cosy, with a bougie styling. Even with Covid regulations they still manage to make it feel like the more traditional restaurant experience. The food was very good and the portions large. They have lots of the standard brunch-type foods on the menu, and all looked excellent. We ordered a variety of options among the 6 of us and everyone was happy. The price was very reasonable, working out at around €17pp for a main meal and a coffee.

We purchased two take away main meals, drinks and "puddings". They supplied wooden disposable spoons and we went and sat in the sunshine on the green opposite. It was a beautiful venue and the food was very good, and a bonus is it was healthy looking! Looking around the green it seemed purchasing lunch from here and sitting on the green was popular!

My Husband and I had lunch here last week. Place very crowded, tables too close to each other. No safety precautions taken regarding Covid. Too many Waitresses walking around doing nothing. Food not good and very expensive. Two soggy rolls filled with cheap, half cooked meat and a few greasy chips cost €33.00. Do not recommend and will not be back, Better places in Westport.

Awful food, had the steak sambo, bits of fat left on the steak and was totally tasteless, leaving a horrible aftertaste in my mouth. They had run out of ciabattas which I had wanted initially. Only plus was the chips. Overpriced and disgusting.
