Lovely evening in the Gallery. We had a booking. We were greeted warmly and shown to our table. We ordered the sharing platter for 2 and the smoked mackerel. A bottle of grenache accompanied our meal. Everything was delicious and there was a great variety...on the platter. Staff and owner were friendly and knowledgeable. Lovely evening.More

If you like a relaxed atmosphere, good chat and interesting music eat here. The best of wines I’ve ever tasted! To top it off the tapas … Amazing flavours, we had mackerel, stuffed peppers and vine leaves, all delicious and an explosion of flavours. Would...not come to Westport and not eat here.More

Nestled in a quite alleyway, just off the Newport road in Westport town, lies this unpretentious quaint restaurant. We booked a table for 8pm and were seated at a table for two, surrounded by Vinyl Albums, cosy cushions, it seemed like a throw-back to a...Hippy era with plenty of warmth and friendliness. Beware the menu is not your standard fare; it does not follow the standard layout, but is limited. We settled for a Grazing Platter for two and on the house recommendation a bottle of Red Rijoca wine. The platter arrived and was like a small buffet with a selection of local cheeses, meats, dips and salads. More than enough to satisfy the largest of appetites. The manager came over and explained everything to us and where they came from (done in a friendly and non condescending manner) Our wine was superb and very fruity and fulfilled the recommendation perfectly. Indeed the two staff members were really nice and efficient. Our Total bill of €73. Was a nice surprise for great food and a wonderful experience?More

We wanted something a little out of the ordinary, and boy did we find it! We stopped in the night before to make a reservation, and we were really glad that we did. Friday evening at 7 pm and the place was full (I think...there are only 5 tables). The staff are hilarious, cracking jokes while bustling around, and adding to the enjoyment of the evening. The cheese board was a magnificent collection of cheeses, meats, nuts and fruits, with a large salad in the middle, and it managed to fill up even my husband who has a very large appetite. We also enjoyed the marinated mushrooms and aubergine dishes, but were a little surprised to find that they're served cold. Background music of jazz was provided by the turntable, and apparently they sell vinyl records also. This was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.More

Came across The Gallery while looking around Wesport. Saw all the records and seating layout and decided to come back that evening. What a find. The 2 guys were really friendly and good fun. We ordered the tasting menu for 2 (as recommended), as we...were unsure of what we wanted to eat. That with a bottle of red wine. A great success! The food combination was excellent Have visited Westport many times but never been to The Gallery. Will be backMore

We visited The Gallery after researching places to eat in Westport which were different from your standard restaurant. The Gallery didn't disappoint and all of the positive comments about the wine selection, food and ambience were spot on! The place is welcoming, quirky and comfortable...and the guys were extremely chatty and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our wines and food and also the craic with the staff and other diners! The music was far from mainstream but added to the atmosphere and it was great to sample some vinyl tunes from a vast and varied selection. The board games are a stroke of genius, I wish we'd started a game of something to keep us a little longer! If you're looking for a relaxed, unique place for an evening of fab wines, tasty food, great coffee and great music and chats then this is the place for you. The owner is clearly proud of his products, proud of his place and passionate about what he does. He should be all of those with good reason. His passion and enthusiasm for his little gem also clearly influences his staff - bug well done! We'll be back! Jane & RobMore

We had the best evening in The Gallery in Westport. We felt very at ease here and there was no rush to enjoy our food. The food was amazing and we loved to hear where each item came from. It’s nice to see a business...supporting local producers. If you enjoy a cheese board and a glass of wine, look no further. The coffee was also very good.More

Two things I love, organic wine and vinyls. So imagine wandering into what looks like an eclectic record shop and discovering its actually an organic tapas and wine bar. Heavon
