From delicious dishes to divine wines all in a pleasant atmosphere. The waiter was helpful in selecting a tasty wine for our meal and we enjoyed every dish. I would certainly suggest you pay them a visit.

We had a two course meal, my wife had local produced lamb and I had quail for mains and we both were very pleased. We would recommend this restaurant.

Food was delicious - had sea bass one night and young Irish chicken the next. My only comment would be that some of the chairs were a bit worn.

I am sure that every review of this Restaurant must mention the view out to Croagh Patrick and Clew Bay. It was breathtaking but thankfully not too much to stop you enjoying the wonderful meals. We made use of the Restaurant for both a very tasty breakfast and an evening meal. The food was very tasty and presented in a... More

This restaurant, which is located in Knockranny House Hotel, offers excellent views of the town below, the bay and the surrounding mountains. But the best thing about this restaurant is the food. It is outstanding. The quality, the presentation, and the flavours were all amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant. (the staff are knowledgeable about the Coeliac condition and... More

This is a restaurant that very much wants you to feel as if you are dining in a top-class establishment. It does so by charging undeservedly high amounts of money for meals that have the look and ambition of being gastronomically masterful, but in truth are experimentally academic. That said, the service was fantastic and I could not fault the... More

The food is fabulous but the dining experience is all about the views of Croagh Patrick & Clew Bay! Just stunning!

Six of us shared a meal at Knockranny House to sample the fare in advance of a big party. It was remarkable. The food, the artful presentation, the service, all were impeccable. The views over Croagh Patrick are the best in Westport. The venison was especially outstanding and several palate cleansers between courses were well thought out.

Description
La Fougere is a multiple award-winning restaurant, perched on the hill side overlooking Clew Bay & Croagh Patrick. Seamus Commons, one of Ireland’s most respected chefs, heads up the team at this Westport restaurant and the food is impeccable; with fresh fish, caught and landed daily, locally reared beef and lamb with fruit & vegetables grown in Knockranny’s gardens. Eating at La Fougere is all about relaxed fine dining, great food chosen from local producers and an interesting wine list – in great company.

It’s a fantastic place to gather, open a bottle of wine, take in the breath-taking views and choose something from the delicious menu.
