Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a fabulous spot within walking distance of the Quays area in Westport with fabulous views. Very accommodating allowing us to eat indoors with our dog & the food was absolutely delicious - particularly the sweet treat dessert. A must visit if you are in...the area, book in advance so you’re not disappointed!More

A really special spot -- if you're visiting Westport, definitely make a beeline for here. We went for a birthday dinner and were so charmed by the whole experience. The food was delish, service exceptional, staff warm and friendly (and very funny!), and atmosphere great...with a room full of fellow delighted diners! We stayed long enough to have a nightcap on the terrasse, and saw the most beautiful sunset of our Wild Atlantic Way road trip. Thanks for a great night, we won't forget it!More

The owner is very rude. We ordered food, and was in the snug waiting for over an hour. When I went to see if why their was a delay, the owner a gray hair man spok so very rudely to me. The food is not...cheep, which is very understandable, especially for a great Castro experience. However, the owner didn't make us feel welcome. Lots of great places to dine in and around Westport, but not Sheebeen.More

We had a great evening starting with oysters and a bottle of Albarrino. Followed by smoked haddock and mussel chowder then roast pork and veg. A truly delicious dinner and thoroughly recommend. The place was packed on a sunday evening so you will need to...reserve a table.More

The food here is excellent!! There is a small menu but everything we had was amazing. It’s an interesting menu also as there’s an oyster here and there! The staff are great and the atmosphere in the front part of the pub is amazing. Great...music too!More

Just had an amazing meal in Cronin’s Shebeen - so sorry we waited until our last night to eat here. My husband had the mussels to start followed by prawn scampi and chips. Yum! I had the fish pie which was scrumptious and full of...delicious fresh fish and even the vegetable side was yummy. We both had the chocolate and orange fondant with roast almond ice cream - exquisite! The kids had a fab chicken burger and home made chips. Staff were lovely and setting was so cosy sitting by a lovely warm fire. I’d almost travel the 3.5 hour trip to Westport just to eat here again!!More

An excellent meal with top quality produce in great surroundings, well worth a visit. Staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive which is not always the case when eating solo.

Very unassuming spot a bit off the beaten path but well worth a visit . Looks tiny on the outside but has plenty of room in the dinning area inside . Lovely little cozy bar in the front with a local friendly atmosphere and smiling...locals and tourists mixing . Food was very fresh, hot, and tasty. Ratatouille as a veg was very welcome from the usual boring veg offered in some spots. Flavors were great and seasoned perfectly. Well done Chefs ! Staff were very friendly and seemed to actually enjoy their job and best of all actually listen carefully to our order and got it right. Some people have said the dinning room is a bit bland but I actually think it has its own character and is not too pretentious. Will call here again for sure.More

Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Food was delicious and great pint of Guinness. Lovely old style decor that made it so cozy and welcoming. We stayed close by for two weeks and ate here as much as possible. Fantastic dining experience.

Utterly delicious food & amazing value however the efficiency of the service was a negative & detracting experience. Our table was right beside the staff clearing area so our meal was had with a constant backdrop of clearing plates. The staff were incredible & hard...working except as guests we felt every drip of sweat in their shift Such a shame as the best meal we have eaten for such a long time however eating out is a total experience. If the team could work more in the background or move the clearing station out of the dining room then our rating would be 5/5More

When I first walked in it looked like your average drinkers pub, so was unsure of the quality of food. Despite sitting on a tiny pub table the food was in one word - AMAZING. Warrants therefore 5* - I had the seafood bisque and...it is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. You could tell everything was locally sourced and fresh. There was a restaurant area in the back I think so my fault for probably not asking to be moved. Regardless - best seafood in Westport!!!More
