My Wife (who is vegetarian) and I booked a table for two in Bar One for 12 noon today. We were pleasantly surprised by the whole layout of the Bar/Restaurant. The owner had obviously gone to a lot of trouble and expense to insure a...safe place for customers to enjoy their meal. I had a seasonal meal of Turkey and Ham and I was very pleased with it I finished with a beautiful Eaton Mess, my Wife had what she described as a very yummy bean burger with fries and veg and two glasses of house white. The service was first class very friendly and I would definitely go there again the next time we visit Castlebar a shopping day, one piece of advice “BOOK BECORE YOU GO” if you book they respond immediately and give you a reminder on the day———just in case you forget.More

Food is always gorgeous. We visit regularly and have tried most of the menu at this stage! We have never had a bad experience here, we love it! Staff are so lovely and cannot do enough for you. Cocktails are gorgeous and reasonably priced too....Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!More

Myself, my husband and two 8 year old children had dinner in Bar One, the food was delicious and the children's menu had great healthy options other than the usual nuggets and chips which was brilliant. Our waitress Fiona was extremely friendly and made dinner...even more enjoyable. If we're back in this area again we'll definitely be back.More

Excellent measures in place for Covid prevention. The staff are friendly and very good at their jobs. Our waitress was excellent. The food was delicious. Everything fresh and of a very high standard. The hake with curry butter was exceptional. All desserts are made in...house which is rare. This is one not to miss if you're in the area.More

Chicken wings are a must. Disappointed my first night eating here was my last night in Castlebar. I will return for sure on the next trip to Mayo. I’d imagine during normal circumstances it is a very popular bar in town. Myself and my partner...met my auntie for dinner. The only issue was the music was very loud so found it hard to have a proper catch up with my auntie. The music wouldn’t have been an issue if I was out with a bunch of friends. Great food. Great menuMore

I don't know whether to focus on the food or the staff. Both were outstanding. Let's start with the friendly and helpful staff who took the time to show interest in us. We had great chats with our helpful waiters both food and drink, we...spent a great end of the night discussing cocktails with the cocktail-barman who takes his role professionally and knows his business inside out. We had the chicken, the hake, and the special hake and all four of us thought the food to be above anything else we experienced in four days in Mayo. SO put this on your list, if you can get a booking, it is a step above all others, and don't just take my word for it! Check out the awards all over the walls!More

After months of nothing getting to meet friends. We were finally free to go out for dinner. Bar one was the prefect choice. Good food and fab cocktails.

A memorable party. We visited for my son’s birthday. We were warmly welcomed by the staff during the pandemic, with very thorough safety precautions. We had a lovely window table. The meals were truly excellent, with all seven of us happy with our choices. I...had superb tiger prawns, followed by the most lovely veal dish; a rare treat in Ireland, which brought back memories of a restaurant in Avignon some nine years ago. Desert was a chocolate brownie with ice cream. We had a lovely celebration, with sincere thanks to Mark Cadden and his colleagues.More
