Gorgeous food, well presented and reasonably priced. The fillet steak was cooked to perfection and very tender, sticky toffee pudding delicious and oozing with caramel sauce. Look forward to the next visit soon!

Friendly and efficient staff. Fabulous starters and mains. Guinness and walnut bread to start, and a sorbet after the starter - included in the price, what a nice touch. Really reasonably priced

This restaurant was lovely and food was excellent. Our first proper meal out since Covid and was delighted that the staff actually requested to see our vaccination proof. This was reassuring rather than a hindrance. The staff were very friendly and professional and the premises...has a very homely feel. Highly recommendedMore

A little gem. Understated fine dining. Well done to the husband and wife team. Shirley is front of house and everything you would want in a Maitre D. Well thought out menu featuring the best of local produce, beautifully prepared by her husband . The...winelist though not extensive has been chosen carefully to complement the dishes. Take a bow. We'll be back in September!More

I have been meaning to write a review on the Dining Room for a while now and since I have plenty of time on my hands now I am taking the opportunity to do so! Every time I visit Castlebar I try to have dinner...in this restaurant as it is consistently good. The flavours are delicious and the staff always friendly and courteous. Hopefully when the government restrictions are lifted I can look forward to a nice meal!More

This was a first time visit to The Dining Room in Castlebar. I just hope that we will get the opportunity to get back there again soon. The dining Room is a small and intimate restaurant on the Main Street in Castlebar. We had heard...great reports on it and decided to give it a try and we enjoyed it very much, 2 Couples - we have West Coast Scallops (2), Chicken Liver pate and Tiger Prawn Scampi for starters. All were so tasty. The pate (which I had) was very flavoursome and delicate, the Scallops were served with Black Pudding and were highly complimented. Tiger Prawn Scampi was fried to just the right level and were crispy and crunchy at the same time. For main course we had Calvey's Achill Lamb(2) , Panfried Sea Trout and Gilligan Farm Beef Fillet. All were very tasty and cooked to order, perfectly, I had the lamb and it was really great. Deserts had to be tried and they included Manchester Tart (2), Milk Cake. With wine, bill came to just over 50Euro per head. We felt is was well worth it. Great atmosphere and we will be back again. We had a really enjoyable evening. In relation to Covid protections, all of the expected precautions were being taken, limit on the number per table, well spaced tables (difficult for a small restaurant) and clear instructions for bathrooms and strong evidence of sanitising after tables were vacated.More
