Fantastic Carvery with friendly staff

Myself and my fiancé popped into the thatch for a bite to eat and we were surprised to see a fully stocked carvery with a great selection of sandwiches, soups and other items to suit every taste bud. I had a fantastic turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Everything was lovely and fresh, roast potato was probably my favourite I’ve had from a carvery. The staff are extremely attentive and friendly. A chips was misplaced to another table but was rectified within a couple of minutes. Everything is reasonably priced and very comfortable seating area. Would highly recommend!

Flavoursome food and the friendliest of faces

Just had another terrific experience at The Thatch Kitchen for breakfast. Lovely hot, strong coffee and lots of it, accompanied real bread, toasted to perfection with as much butter as you’d like. 2 meaty sausages, a load of rashers, white pudding, black pudding, mushrooms, baked beans and scrambled eggs instead of fried no problem - not to forget the fresh and juicy tomato too, was a just perfect breakfast. If the quality of this is snitching to go by, the Carvery is likely to be the best in the county!

incredible staff and food at an affordable price

Incredible food, massive portion sizes at a very affordable price, but most important, incredible staff. Josephine and the staff go out of their way to ensure you've been looked after. Aside from the carvery dinner available, the hot food menu is altered from day to day making, meaning there's nearly always something for someone. I go in on my breaks at least once a week, and I'm always greeted by a smile and immediate service. I've been in when it's busy and quiet, and the service is always the same. If you're in the area, I cannot recommend you go and grab a bite to eat, you won't be disappointed.

Best Carvery in town

I have visited here a few times now and in each occasion the food is always top notch. Everything in the carvery is always fresh no matter the time of day. Portions are very good I can never finish. The staff are allways friendly and helpful.

21st party in the grange room

Had my 21st there last Saturday in the grange room and I can’t thank Mary enough. Mary was amazing she went above and beyond for me and to accommodate all my requests. Mary decorated the room for me and even let me add my own touches as-well which I was super grateful for. I can’t recommend the thatch enough I had an amazing night and the staff were all so friendly. The food that comes with the party was absolutely gorgeous I couldn’t stop eating it and they weren’t small portions either. There was loads of dance floor space which was great cause we weren’t all squished. I can’t genuinely can’t thank Mary enough she was genuinely amazing and was so polite and friendly. If your thinking of having a party there definitely get in contact with Mary

Excellent restaurant

Went to the Thatch for Sunday lunch .Top marks to the chef the meat was so tender and delicious . The staff were all so pleasant and efficient. 10 out of ten to this restaurant I will definitely be back and will be recommending the Thatch to my friends .

Carvery Lunch Amazing

Carvery lunch was really tasty with great selection of options to suit all. Staff were brilliant and helpful as we had young kids with us. Definitely worth a visit - amazing food and great staff!

Having eaten here before, we decided to return. The taste and quality of the food is out of this world and in my opinion, one of the best carvery’s in Ireland. Easy parking available and just two minutes off the motorway ( remember to get a toll receipt, so you aren’t charged twice ) Chef was very nice and attentive We had roast beef with sauté roasted garlic potatoes, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, sauté carrots, broccoli , cabbage, stuffing and pepper sauce. It really was magnificent Well well worth a visit Thank you to all at the Thatch

Sunday Carvery - 12.30pm

Four for Sunday carvery. Two for beef stew and two for roast beef. Good portions, all perfectly cooked with a delicious gravy. Followed by Americanos. If there was room I would have added one of their delicious desserts- trifle, fruit roulade, cheesecake, apple tart or brownie. Great value, good food and friendly staff & service make this restaurant worth a repeat visit. This was our third time there.

Excellent Carvery with lots of delicious options

Clean, spacious restaurant, friendly staff, the carvery is excellent with a Couple of roast joints, beef and turkey, and a caserole, stew, curry, burgers, lasagna and a great selection of veg and sauces. Great spot for a weekend carvery. I've also been in for breakfast which is also delicious, from full Irish to French Toast and Pancakes. The Chef takes real pride in this work, attending to the Carvery and it's great to be able to give feedback directly.

Unbelievable carvery!!!

Popped in to the Thatch for a bite to eat and noticed they had a carvery on. Himself had the turkey and I had the chicken curry and it was absolutely fabulous. Food was lovely and fresh and the service was second to none! Had a lot of sandwich choices and other bits on their carvery menu directly from the kitchen on a blackboard too. Will definitely be back!

Christmas Party

Fantastic venue for our Club Christmas party. Mary was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble when organising our night. Food was top class. Great flavours and big portion sizes. Will definitely return for future functions. Thank you. Drogheda Triathlon Club

Lovely staff tasty carvery

Went for Sunday carvery after funtasia water park. I phoned ahead 10/15mins before arriving to make sure they had a table/space for 9 to sit together. They kindly resevered a table for us. The food was unreal best carvery I’ve had in ages the gravy is to die for. If I’m back down that direction I will be stopping for my lunch

Portion size major issue

Visited as couple recently for lunch. Lovely warm room, nice staff. Had two lunch specials. Food fine except roast potatoes and yorkshire pudding both missing off plate. Same advertised on specials board as part of meal. Tiny tiny portions for the price of 14 euro. Had to make hubby his dinner at home two hours after having lunch!! Portion sizes really need to be reviewed. Possibly reason restaurant was practically empty
