Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed in the D Hotel with a friend and went down in the afternoon for a few pints and eventually had some food. I found the bar nice but needing something more "warmer" as a pub. I think the tables are too spread out or...something, not sure what is missing but the décor is great and there's a fantastic choice of beers on tap, cocktails and spirits. The staff seemed to be constantly under pressure or away even though the pub was not busy at the time. We ordered food and I had the Philly Steak sandwich...really good and delicious, highly recommended. My friend had the Cajun wrap...equally as good. Nice place, but again there's something missing about the atmosphere.More

Food was just alright. Atmosphere left a lot to be desired… place had a decent amount of people in but you could hear crickets with how quiet it was. No music playing and all customers whispering as a result. We also received the wrong dip...and chips with our meals. I have came here multiple times in the past and have never been dissatisfied or disappointed but the place has seemed to change. I would give the place another try however, because I do have hope it could be a nice place to eat again.More

We really liked the first impressions - courteous hostess, inviting main dining area. But then came the food. We ordered 'home made 8 oz burger' because it is advertised as being made with '100% Irish beef'. Well, it tasted like rubber. Perhaps, because it was...overdone. Perhaps because a blueish spot on the bun was a MOLD, and NOT a decoration. Maybe we should have left at this point but we were tired and hungry, and so we proceeded with the Caesar salad. Big mistake! Perhaps it was the sauce. Multiple trips to the toilet and 24 hour later the stomachs have finally recovered.More

We went into this fantastic looking restaurant and bar with good reviews...but we got off on the wrong foot from the start when our waiter told us the advertisement card on our table for "Buy one cocktail, get one free" did not apply. It really...was, "Buy two, get one free. We changed it today." Um, but that is not what your advertisement says... Needless to say, we left after our drink and headed to a gastro pub for dinner.More

Went to the bar on arrival (1 hour early) and they were super accommodating placing us in a fab booth close to everything, even though we were an hour early! Ordered the kids mains to come out with my starter which was timed perfectly, and...I've had hot wings with blue cheese dip in a lot of places but these were amazing! Crispy yet full of juicy meat, smothered in a brilliant hot sauce - perfection! I went for the mushroom linguine with chicken and it was also delicious, piping hot & no shortage of chicken with a really yummy garlic bread. The staff were rushed off their feet but made a point of stopping to check all wad ok, and drinks delivery was speedy which can make all the difference when in a busy eatery. The raspberry bramble was fab, and I opted for pinot grigio which was sweet but refreshing. Dessert the girls got kids brownies and cream, not to mention their special request for a glass of ice with a spoon 🙈 and this was catered for no questions asked! I would say the brownies are super sweet but nothing less than youd expect from a brownie, i just cant handle it, a wider dessert menu would be lively with maybe like a lemon posset just something a bit different from the usuals but thats only if i had to give some sort of suggestion! All in all a lovely dinner experience, and I can't wait to get back for more wings!!!More

We came here for a work party and Tracy and Lynn were more than accommodating helping us plan out our night. We went with the party package for 20 people. The food was delicious, the atmosphere welcoming and the music excellent with space to get...up and dance. Service at the table and bar very friendly approachable and nothing was to much trouble. Thank you for helping us have a wonderful night out.More

We enjoyed our time here and were in no rush, which was a good thing, because I think they were understaffed and the service was very slow. The food was good. The menu is big and the atmosphere is very nice.

A nice restaurant/bar right next to the river. Great food and service, relaxing atmosphere and probably the best seafood chowder I’ve ever come across. The restaurant manager, Louise, even sat down to join us for a bit. First class place with very reasonable prices and...a wonderful place to wind down.More

What a great team. Welcomed from the minute we walked in the door. Small meeting room complimentary because we were staying! And when finished we went to The Hops for tea and a few drinks. Louise is an absolute Lady, made us feel welcome. And...ensured my vegetarian requirements were met. Both the main course and dessert were really lovely. Really good food. But Louise and Paul and the rest of the team made our stay. Highly recommend for business or pleasure! Thank youMore
