You rarely eat well in hotel restaurants but here there is an exception. The seafood chowder is divine and rich in fish, the fish and chips are crunchy and light, the steak is tasty. Passed with full marks

Delicious and queer friendly service!

Delicious breakfast with top notch service. Queer friendly staff also. I had the Benny with the smashed guacamole. Best breakfast ever! The guacamole actually had a little kick and the poached eggs were beautifully runny. Tasty and would definitely recommend! Vegan breakfast was generous and delicious across the board. Nico went above and beyond to make us feel welcome as well as management.

Great and stylish setting and lovely food

We were staying in the George hotel so we decided to try this place as it is very conveniently on site. We are always just a little cautious with hotel restaurants but that certainly was not a problem here. It has its own look and feel and is really very stylish with a lovely atmosphere. Nice and spacious too which is a consideration in these strange times. Very good and efficient service and we were pointed towards the extremely good value three course menu (which, by the way, includes steak at no extra charge or supplement). We decided to go for that as the choice and range of starters and mains was very good and tempting. The blonde had the arancini which was great and the boy had the prawns which he loved. I had the lovely healthy avocado salad which was nice but actually had very little avocado in it which was a bit disappointing. But it was tasty nevertheless with lots of shredded mozzarella in there. The mains were also fine, served with a smile. They were also very substantial. The 10 ounce sirloin was as described, 10 ounces of lovely steak. I had asked for it rare and it arrived cooked as what I would call medium but with enough redness remaining to qualify as medium rare for most people. It was tasty and juicy so no real cause for complaint. I would not be too critical as it is difficult to get a truly rare steak anywhere. If you want it rare buy one from the butcher and slap it on a very hot pan for 45 seconds a side yourself at home! Even though we went for the three course set menu we were unable to eat dessert at that point as we were fully satisfied. Even so the waiter applied the discount anyway, which I thought was very kind, I would have been happy to pay full price. Furthermore, he offered us dessert and cheeses to take away to our room to have later on. This was a great touch but we declined as we were truly full. He then gave us some bottles of chilled water to take with us. This is above and beyond in terms of service, so well done indeed. Nest time we are in Limerick we will call in, even if we are not staying in the George.

Bad, just bad. Avoid!

I have not experienced such a poor service in so long. In place like this with their prices, they should treat you like kings and queens. Instead everyone is ignoring you, you have to ask for everything and when we wanted to get the bill we actually stood up and went to paid ourselves. It was extremely quiet lunch with maybe three or four other tables taken with about seven staff members who were too busy chatting away. We sat right next to the waiter station so we heard it all. While waiting and waiting and waiting and then waiting some more. No check back on the food (which was horrible) I had to wave the waitress over to get a second drink. I absolutely hate to wave at waiters as it's rude. But I'd be waiting for my drink till now otherwise. The food is overpriced but ok it looked like a fancy restaurant so what the hell let's treat ourselves. Except it's really not fancy. We had a pizza which was basically soggy dough with three pieces of mozzarella on it. The sauce was diluted with water. No taste, just wet bread. I'm surprised you're still in business (you shouldn't be) with staff like that, prices so high and inedible food. Go eat take away you will get much better food and better treatment.

Had dinner with two of my friends here as we were staying at the hotel. The restaurant was very busy especially considering it wasn't a weekend night. Staff were friendly although it was difficult to get their attention some of the time. There was a very reasonable offer of a 3 course meal for 29euro. The menu has a great variety. I ordered the prawn cocktail for starters. The Marie rose sauce was tasty but there was far too much of it and only 3 prawns. For mains, two of us got the salmon on a saffron risotto. Salmon was edible but the risotto was inedible. My other friend got the battered haddock and chips and she couldn't finish it either as the fish tasted undercooked. We told the waitress and she was very nice but said the chef just told her that the fish was fresh and caught today. Not sure why that was relevant. We had a good night but we will not be eating there again.

The place is nice and cozy, but don't trust those who say that the pizza is classic Italian! It is a pizza cooked in a pan with non-Italian ingredients, the typical pizza of the foreign country that seems frozen... if we had known, we would have definitely ordered something else. The dessert was very good. The staff very nice but with little experience.

Mixed Review: Manager was rude, service was late, food was good and waitress was lovely!

Went for a 70th birthday and was very dissapointed, we had preplanned with staff over the phone to get the early bird which wasn't honored on the night and to bring non alcoholic wine for our friend, which the manager also made rude remarks about. The service was late some of us not getting our food until others were finished theirs, including eating the Thai Red curry out of 2 separate bowls. The food was good, everyone enjoyed it! An qpprox 400€ bill from our group, we were expecting our plans to be honored on the night and to be treated nicely by the manager, our waitress was lovely too!

Great venue, but food has gone backwards

First visit back in a few years, venue and location are still top notch and the ambience in the restaurants is lovely. Waiting staff were friendly and looked after us well, not so sure about the two guys walking around in grey suits who were obviously managers, one of them needs to take lessons in how to deal with clients, we (5 of us) just sat down and within a minute asked us if we were ready to order, which clearly we weren’t, amazingly he didn’t hide the fact that he wasn’t impressed we weren’t ready to order! The main issue on the night was the food, which was always good here and has gone downhill badly, Pizza should not have all toppings (including sauce) slide off when you pick up a slice, chips were just passable and the fajita was poor – BTW any fajita I have had, generally has some cheese as an option to add. In summary, great venue and location, but let down by the food and a bad uniformed manager….

Second time to dine there. First time was excellent but second visit very disappointing. My calamari starter was overcooked and I returned my main dish of fish and chips as covered in salt which I cannot use due to heart condition. I had specifically asked that nothing be put on my food. Our server was excellent and it was the chef’s fault not his. There were four of us in company and two others were also given main course which was not as asked for. Again the chef’s fault. Of the four myself and one other were not asked to show our COVID vaccination proof. On my previous visit I was not asked for proof of vaccination either. On my visit last night I complained to management as to why I was not asked to show proof of vaccination.

We visited here today with our 2 year old and we’re extremely disappointed with the food. I ordered plain macaroni with no sauce for my child. It arrived in what could only be described as a tiny bowl, the same size as a saucer. I had a starter portion of chicken wings, which were fine. Very spicy which was fine for me. The blue cheese sauce/jelly like mayo was vile. My husband had a chicken Kiev which was nice. The veg and mashed potatoes were thrown on the plate, no presentation, and were tasteless. However, it was the bill at the end that really infuriated me. The small bowl of plain pasta (picture attached) cost €9!!! I queried it with the lady at the till and she said, that’s the price. I spoke to the manager and asked how could they justify charging €9 for a tiny bowl of pasta. He basically said, that was the price, there’s nothing he could do about it and walked away laughing. It was incredibly rude, to not even listen and to belittle a query from a paying customer. The other items were at an ok price point, no complaints there but the quality of the food must match the price, which it didn’t. We won’t be returning.

My girlfriend and I had a poor meal here, the starters were premade warmed and lacked taste. The mains however were a disaster, pizzas that had uncooked dough at the base covered in flavourless sauce. Whole thing either lacked cookery understanding or they simply didn't care

Upon entry we were greeted by a manager and I must say he was one moody rude man. This was on Friday 28th of January so for a manager in his position he should consider a career change. The young staff on the other hand were a credit to the place. Really friendly. They saved the service experience on the night. I opted for the Red Thai Curry with chicken and the portion presented was more like a starter. The chicken content was brutal. We laughed as we counted 6 pieces diced. It must have been one tiny chicken breast they had at hand. You could only laugh. My wife had the Mac & Cheese burger. She was a little disappointed as there was no sauce on the burger, it was very dry and she asked for salad and she got none either. I really thought with the rating this restaurant had that we would have a good experience. If this is classed as a great place to dine then people should try and get out more or else the pandemic has made some people accept standards below what they should experience especially for the prices at this restaurant. Nice atmosphere due to the customers and waitresses and waiters but overall there are better restaurants in this city.

A perfect dinner for 6 people on a busy Friday night where each of us felt perfectly taken care of. We had a covered outdoor table with perfect service and my steak with beautifully perfect. Great staff, enthusiastic and well trained.

We got a takeaway from here. Three of us got carbonara which was cold and tasteless. The sauce was grey. I got a “chicken kiev” which was burnt and absolutely no taste of garlic. It was also extremely dry. None of us could eat it, we wont be eating from here again.

Very good environment and good service. The delicious food. I had four three courses， lamb, pizza, mushroom tortellini. Lamb is juicy, piazza is totally different from street and the tomato pasta is fresh with strong basil flavor. Tortellini is creamy with very good garlic bread. I love them so much.
