Visited The Copper Room recently. I tried to book a table a few days beforehand and was informed it was walk in only however there were several tables with "reserved" signs on them which was a bit strange!! Service is at the bar. Food was...good and nice atmosphere. Overall we had a very nice evening and would return.More
This tapas and wine bar is absolutely beautiful, so atmospheric however a nice evening ends once you are greeted by a member of staff...there wasn’t one person we came across that didn’t have an attitude! Terrible service included our wine being opened at the bar...instead of at our table and then being poured into our glasses without the offer of tasting it first, followed by us realising it was not even the wine we ordered in the first place! The food was fine but half the menu was unavailable even though the place was nearly empty when we arrived! I would have hated to have not tried this place as it looked so good but I would recommend avoiding it if you want to enjoy your evening!More
I have visited this place on several occasions and always been happy, but my recent visit was totally different. We chose to stay in the cave. I was advised after 20 minutes of waiting to be served that I need to come to the bar...and order from there, which I did. Following this, the waiter said I need to take the wine & glasses myself and they no longer serve tables. He also mentioned that I need to change the location if I order food as the cave is not suitable for it. Quite surprised I left the bar with wine&glasses in my hand. After I managed to open the bottle by myself I noticed a bunch of ladies sitting nearby and being kindly served by the waitress. She let them taste the wine and filled their glasses. After some time, another staff member walked in and started tidying the cave, making us feel that is time to go (it was no near to closing time). Then she decided to bring swiping brush and started cleaning the floors demanding to lift our shoes up so she could reach further. I was lucky enough to have a long term friend with me so I didn't feel embarrassed but I would hate this experience if I was to bring a visitor! Being so disappointed with the service that night I wonder, what happened to the old staff and why they lowered their standards so much?More
Very interesting venue. Really enjoyable, largely a younger crowd, but really nice for us slightly older too.
We were on a work night out The Copper Rooms is always voted as the place to meet up for pre dinner drinks . It is always cosy and warm and offers a good selection of wine and non alcoholic drinks with a nice atmosphere....It has been a while since we visited last . We were disappointed to see that the nice cosy comfortable seating has been replaced with cafe type chairs . This takes away from the relaxed atmosphere and doesn’t encourage patrons to sit and relax longer it’s gone from inviting and cosy to functional and not a place you would stay for the evening .Please make the Copper Rooms comfortable again .More
I've been to the Copper Rooms several times and never had an issue with staff here before. However, I was here on Saturday night with friends and the waitress was very rude to us. We waited quiet some time for our order to be taken...and eventually decided to go up to the bar ourselves to order. When we were given the wine the waitress slammed the glasses down on the table etc, not being very friendly towards us, very curt. After proceeding to pay we remained at the table for a further 5-10 minutes when a reserved sign was slammed down on the table....basically we were being told to leave. As soon as we started standing up, the waitress came straight over and took the reserved sign away...wouldn't even wait until we left? Very disappointed.More
Wine bar with only 4 reds and 4 whites available by the glass- none of them with a vintage year mentioned. Very poor winelist. Cheeseboard - unidentified cheeses. When asked to identify only one cheese was named- others were cheddar and Brie if unspecified origen....They did not taste good. Served with a vinegar tinged tomato paste and a bowl of oil! No sign of the onion jam specified on the menu. As there is only a cheese and meat board or crostini on the menu this really could not be worse. Very nice interior in a lovely high ceiling basement in a Georgian house. Shame!More
Had a great evening with my family wouldn’t have possible without the young lady who went out of her way to make this a very enjoyable evening thank you Caoimhe I hope I have spelled your name correct
had a wonderful time here over the weekend meeting up with old friends, the place is so cute and cosy and both wine and food is very reasonably price! Best of all was the service, Caoimhe looked after our table extremely well-such a pleasant and...friendly girl which just made the night entirely and her recommendations from the menu were very appreciated !More
