Really enjoyed my experience at the Locke Bar. I had planned on having dinner there and made a reservation because they offer gluten free options, but it was also highly recommended by my Airbnb host. I had the lamb stew with mash and a couple of ciders, all of which was thoroughly enjoyable and reasonably priced. The table I was seated at was in the corner (and had my name on a little chalkboard on the table to reserve it!) so I sat in the booth side initially, but then the live music and dancing started and I switched to the opposite side so I could see. Service was great and the entertainment was really nice, definitely a pleasant way to end the day.

Recently visited this restaurant after a long day of sightseeing around Clare and Limerick and it did not disappoint. We ordered the lamb stew and it was delicious. We were constantly entertained by the excellent music and atmosphere. We were served by a waitress named Louise who answered any questions we had about the menu and was super friendly and helpful. She made sure everyone at the table was okay for everything. Her service alone would make me want to come back. I have recommended this restaurant to many friends who will come here

Went here for lunch. Were welcomed straight away with menus and told to sit where we wished. After a few minutes we were asked if we were ready to order which we were. Food arrived less than 15 mins, well presented, tasty and filling. Waitress was friendly, the bar and toilets all very clean.

My sons and I had breakfast there today. We had a mix if options including a full irish which was excellant and a scrambled egg with a side of crispy bacon which was mediocre at best. My other sons had other options which wer both good. A couple of small issues which bugged me. The wait staff were not great, i would say young and inexperienced. Our food arived and there was no cutlery or condiments. 2 people were served 1st then the 2nd before the cutely arrived. I would not nornally have an issue with inexperienced staff as we all have to start somewhere, I point it out only because given my other issues it compounded the negative aspects if our visit. I am sure given time they will learn and grow to understand how to do the job better. Rashers are not crispy bacon. I got rashers with my eggs. I was expecting streaky bacon cooked to a crispy texture. I did not get this. Also, the scrambled eggs were poor, certainly not resteraunt quality. Cold plates. If you serve hot food on a cold plate the food goes cold quicker. Its a simple thing but annoys me so. Finally, 4 glasses of orange juice cost €12. This is not a typo, €12. They server britvic from the bar rather than breakfast orange juice. This is a bit of a bug bear for me Overall 1 breakfast was excellant, 2 were good and 1 was poor. Staff were under par and general service items were not great. While this will not deter me from eating in The Locke, I have had other dining experiences there involving finger food etc. i will look at other alternatives for breakfast and hope they can improve these simple things.

In July I visited the Locke with friends for food and a few drinks. There was only one vegetarian option on the menu (risotto), it was too big and very expensive at €19. I am not the biggest fan of risotto as it is and I was quite disappointed that I had no other option. The staff also were quite rude when they notified us that it was time to leave. My meat-eater friends did enjoy their meals though. I will not be coming back here for food again, but great atmosphere for drinks. Pity that COVID-19 has put the live music on hold!

Nice atmosphere, table suitable socially distanced, very nice and attentive staff, however three different people served our table. Meal was nice apart from dessert, ordered apple pie which was €6.90 for a miserable square of apple slice that i could get in a petrol station. Nothing 'Gastro' about the apple pie. Apart from that a nice evening

Booked 2 tables for my Dad's 80th. We weren't informed of the specials. There was no table service ie you had to go in to order a drink and order your food. Still in covid restrictions so they shouldn't be doing that. Chicken Vól au vents were ordered by 5.. Everyone said the chicken was cold... I had the cheese burger.. The meat was so salty I only ate half. No children's menu. Such a shame as it was a special day.

Stopped in with some co-workers after a long work day. First of all, our waitress Reah was quick off the mark and very friendly, and secured is some tasty beverages. The service was equaled with delicious and quick food. Steak and ale pie was flaky and hearty, fish and chips were crispy and flavourful, and the steak was tender and juicy! The atmosphere was lively yet quaint! We had a great time and will be back again for more great food and service from lovely staff like Reah!!

A group of us booked into this restaurant . The restaurant was rang on the day of the booking to check and confirm booking ( for the 2nd time ) . We were eating in the outside area of the restaurant. When we arrived we were told there was no room outside but we could eat across the road at tables with broken umbrellas, and the rain dripping down on us. When we questioned this arrangement, we were told in a dismissive manner by the manager that they didn't take large groups, yet they took our booking a number of weeks previous. The gentleman who said he was the manager was rude, dismissive and needs to learn people skills as they were appalling. They do not deserve even one star

This pub was suggested while in Limerick and boy did it not disappoint. My husband and I got the special (Pan fried Cod, spicy tomato mash, rocket & parmesan salad w/ balsamic reduction) and it was delicious. I also tried the Orchard Theives cider and it too was fantastic. We stayed for the Irish music and dancing and thoroughly enjoyed it. Do not miss this stop while visiting Limerick!

We met the owners, Richard and his wife, at The Rock in Cashell. He was kind enough to offer to take mine and my husband's photo at the castle ruins. Started talking and he saw we were to be in Limmerick. He invited us to stop in and we did. There were 6 of us and we wanted to hear Irish music and that we did. Had a great time and the food was some of the best we had while on our trip. We all had the traditional Irish fare but the table next to us had this amazing looking chicken sandwich. Unfortunately I left my purse there and went back the next day and they had saved it for me. Thinking of those sandwiches we made reservations to go back that night. We were not disappointed. The soups and stews are delicious, the service is great, Ajean, our server was precious and always smiling. We gave her a hard time in jest and she smiled all the way thru. The atmosphere is that of true Irish pub. If you are in the area you must stop in for a bite, you won't regret it.

After being put off pints due to their inflated price (6:20 for moretti) I decided to move to cocktails. I received a french martini with no head and tasted nothing but lime. This was the same case with a pornstar martini, unbalanced and overpowering lime and pineapple. Redemption in an expresso martini which turn out to be bitter, despite having a barista style machine. At the end of the night the bar manager found out about my “problems with the cocktails” and told me “if I didn’t like them I shouldn’t have kept ordering them”. On the other hand wait staff were very nice through out the night.

We stopped in for a quick lunch and a beer. The food was fantastic (especially the soup) and atmosphere cheery and cozy. We returned that evening to enjoy more food, drinks and traditional Irish music/dancing. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland.
