Post lockdown treat

Myself and my husband had a fabulous meal here (our first after lockdown) and it didn’t disappoint. Staff were so attentive, food was delicious, priced really reasonably, relaxed with excellent service. The mussels were Devine. Would highly recommend and will return ourselves.

Teriffic As Always

Have eaten here several times but not since it's changed name and style. The food is as good as it's ever been, we enjoyed every course. Special mentions for the pork belly and the sea bass. Staff are friendly and efficient and the wine list is short but well chosen. Early bird menu is great value, we ate from the a la carte and that was still very good value for the quality of food.

A fabulous little find

Arrived in Limerick on the 30th for 2 nights over the New Year. Rossi’s was close to our hotel so we popped in for dinner, the service and food was really impressive, so impressive that we requested a table for New Year’s Eve for 6 people, which was very short notice. They were so helpful and squeezed us in, the food and service, again didn’t disappoint, 4 adults and 2 children were all very happy. Definitely worth a visit if in Limerick....will visit again when back. Great menu and beautiful restaurant

Overpriced main course

Just back home from a meal here with friends.I got the garlic and chili prawns to start, they were beautiful and the portion was fairly decent, however the main course portions were small. I got the seafood linguine, I was disappointed to see the huge bowl with a very small amount of food inside it. I was still hungry after the meal. The seafood was cooked well but the dish just wasn't for me and I think at €18.50 it was extremely over priced for what was served. The staff were friendly and helpful but because the restaurant was so quiet it felt like there was no atmosphere.

Valentine's Massacre

We booked a table for 6.30 on Valentine's day and we had been looking forward to trying this restaurant as we had tried a few takeaways here during lockdown but that is where we should have left it. I do understand the night that was in it. It was busy. They want a quick turnover to maximise people coming through the doors but when my Wife ordered the Tagliatelle Boscaiola and was presented with what I can only describe as a kids portion in an adults bowl then you know its a chef that has dropped their standards or else its a restaurant that looks at the profit in a bowl and not the correct portion. I relayed it to the waitress and she said she would see what she could do but I insisted I just wanted to relay my feedback. We have never in our lives sought a discount or food to be replaced and we weren't going to start that now so just to relay honest feedback was enough for us. Did they seem bothered? I doubt it. In fairness to the waitress she could see herself how empty looking the bowl was so soon after it was presented. I had to share my side dish and in fairness I got the Lamb Burger and chips and that was a healthy portion but I couldn't help but wonder how many people would have received similar sized portions and never called them out on it? If the manager himself had even the decency to pop over it may have made the place look some bit professional but to just more or less let the waitress take the feedback gave me an indication of how this place is run. There is a surge and desire to eat out at the moment and they may be arrogant enough to think that they can act in any way they see fit but things will settle in time and the surge booking bubble will burst and they will be glad of any custom they can get. The fact my Wife had to get food after it summed it up so my advice is start calling them out because this can't be the only time someone has experienced this.

Rossi's at the Highway Doradoyle / Not Authentic Italian Food

Rossi's has recently opened at the former Highway Restaurant in Doradoyle. I ate here with the family last Tuesday. I expected proper authentic Italian food. We were all so disappointed with the food. I had the Seafood Spaghetti. The pasta was not homemade or fresh and was overcooked. The sauce was dreadful and tasted as if it had Asian sweet chilli sauce in it. No shell fish in it. The lasagne's pasta was hard overcooked and the pasta sheets were stuck together. The Boscailola has two types of pasta in it a few strings of spaghetti were found amongst the tagatelle. The garlic bread was the worse I've ever had. Stone hard sour dough covered in harsh strong tasting olive oil. Couldn't taste the garlic. The chips tasted of rancid oil. This was not authentic Italian food. In addition the waitress did not ask how our meal was or if she could get us anything. I needed a spoon for the spaghetti. It's awful to go out to dinner and to spend a lot of money on food that you know you could make so much better at home. I did give my opinion after I paid. The gentleman apologized and said he would chat with the chef and that was the end of it. Very disappointed. I should have went to Tuscany Bistro next door. Terrible food and service...

Evening meal

Had a meal here Saturday evening and I have to say was impressed from the minute we walked in. A lovely waitress Michaela took our order. The food was excellent I had pasta and my wife had the risotto which was mouth-watering another waitress Georgia was more than helpful as well. It was our first time in Rossis but it won't be our last. Very very good. Great to have a restaurant of this calibre in limerick

Great Dinner

We dined at Rossi’s last Thursday evening whilst visiting limerick and felt obliged to make everyone aware of this amazing little Italian. Centrally located, a contemporary feel and amazing atmosphere- it was a really lovely experience. Our servers (Darragh) where very attentive and friendly and the food was authentic and delicious. A must visit Italian eatery in Limerick!

Amazing food

Me and my husband went to this restaurant for romantic dinner. We are not fans of Italian food but We heard good opinions about it. We ordered mussels, risotto and steak and I need to say it was so tasty! One of the nicest food I ever had. Definitely recommend!! On top of that staff was so friendly, especially Darragh who recommend the best white wine which matched perfectly with our food. Thank you again!

Worst food

Omg I've just left this restaurant it was the worst food I've ever eaten burnt tasteless stuff. Only 1 steak so i decided to get a carbana that had no sauce on it asked for some when it came out n they brought me garlic mayo. The other tbone that we got was burnt on 1 side n over cooked. The chips were rock hard and inedible. The kids burger was burnt even the bun was burnt. The garlic bread was so hard it could have broken a tooth. The only meal that came out that wasn't sent back was the spág bol n that to me was so tasteless.. We got other. Stuff to replace our 1st order but that was just as bland. Needless to say I'm now outside a shop getting sweets and tayt9s to fill me up.. Not a great start to our holiday

I've been here before and it was nice but this time the service was bad and food was OK. They hadn't a clue who's food was for what table and we had to wait ages for cutlery, then to order or meal, order drinks and then again for the bill. After each course we waited at least 20 mins for our empty plates to be taken away. The waitresses saw but just looked away - didn't seem to bother them. Could tell other people were waiting a long time too and weren't too happy with service. It was also very cold at night and full of midgets, we were right under heaters but they weren't turned on. Disappointed

Extremely disappointed with this restaurant overall after my first and last visit. When the food eventually arrived at the table, the presentation was not up to par. It was as if the kitchen porter had taken the night off and the waiting staff were too stubborn to give the plates and glasses a wipe down. Our glasses were covered in lipstick, which was very off putting for our meal as we are still living in a time of a global pandemic. After the waiting staff eventually took away our disappointing mains, they returned 45 minutes later with a dessert menu. They acknowledged that their service was not up to the quality it should’ve been and offered to take the cost of 1 drink off the bill, which didn’t really make sense as there was two of us sitting at the table. I also was made feel very uncomfortable while paying as the waiter couldn’t take his eyes off the card machine while I was typing in my pin code. I definitely with not make the same mistake of returning to this restaurant again.

Fantastic food, staff and atmosphere.

Came in later on a Friday night after booking somewhere else where they closed the kitchen early. Was so happy we called to see if there were any tables outside as we had not tried the restaurant before. I had the mussels to start which were literally the nicest mussels I have ever had, the sauce was so creamy and the mussels were cooked to perfection. My friends had pizzas and fish and chips- the fish and chips are also to die for topped with lardons and fresh peas. I tried the penne Pacino which was also beautiful, plenty of toppings included and a lovely sauce. The staff really make the place, they were all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them even though we came in late we weren’t expecting such fantastic service. Will 100% be back and have already recommended to friends.

Amazing food... without doubt

Amazing food... without doubt one of the finest restaurants in Limerick. The food was outstanding!!! To begin we tried a number of the bruschetta starters along with the chicken wings which were awesome. For mains we had both the Seafood Linguine and the Chicken Supreme. Both were cooked perfectly and any changes asked were made without any issues (I’m not a fan of salmon and it was removed from the linguine before it was cooked) The quality of the food was amazing, everything so fresh and delicious. Next time in Limerick we will be calling again. A nice tip with the current virus situation was that the tables were nicely spaced and on every table was an individual bottle of sanitizer..

Fab food & amazing staff!

We went to Rossi’s for my sister in law’s baby shower. We couldn’t have been treated better. We were given our own area and the staff were amazing! Ross the owner helped us with handpicking our own personalised menu and couldn’t have done more for us! The food was gorgeous, I highly recommend the Tagliatelle Boscaiola! We will be back soon!
