About
Zuni Restaurant and Boutique hotel is located on Patrick Street in Kilkenny's City Centre. The building operated as a theatre from 1902 to the late 1960s and was opened as a Restaurant & Boutique Hotel in 2000. The front of the building houses the chic Box Office cocktail bar, which was originally the box office for the theatre. This is a small area and can be deceptive for first time visitors, as it sometimes gets mistaken for the restaurant. which is at the back in the building where the main part of the theatre originally was. The restaurant is a great room with an open kitchen serving top class food and drink in a casual setting. There are Thirteen luxury bedrooms with on-site parking.

Well folks, I would rate myself among the 'easily pleased'. This is a small, comfortable establishment, very conveniently located to the main thoroughfare. Breakfast was good and all staff encountered were welcoming and pleasant. I'm deducting one point for cultures growing in a kettle in...Room 202. I only discovered this on the first mouthful of tea, which tasted putrid. I didn't make an issue of it because it was too late in the day, but it did slightly inconvenience me from my late night cuppa. Finicky, I know, but warranting a 1 point reduction. Otherwise, a good place to stay.More

This restaurant would benefit from the services of an acoustic engineer. On a midweek evening the noise levels made it difficult to chat.

We dined here whilst visiting Kilkenny for three days. I have to admit it matched if not bettered the excellent Michelin starred restaurant in the town. Each course was well presented and superbly cooked. The staff were friendly and venue had a good atmosphere. Throw...in the great choice of cocktails in the bar beforehand then you have a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Thank you so much Zuni.More

A last minute booking on a Saturday evening and a nice surprise - small but precise menu - We skipped starters to which they were a little upset about and then told us there would be a long wait to the main course - wasn’t...pleased but ai took some bread which was very nice The beef steak, fish and beef were beautifully cooked and so tasty - really worth the wait Table service was very good and organised - the room was simply done but again tasteful - It’s definitely worth a visit but book beforehandMore

Atmosphere was lovely. Food was average. Waiter keep explaining what food was while his fingers were quite close do to the food. Just wasn't an enjoyable meal.

Wonderful service, a nice vibe and excellent food. We had the salmon and the featherblade beef and it tasted amazing! The waiter was friendly and smiling. Attentive to us at all times and not overwhelming. I would definitely go back.

The experience was excellent. As for the food: the Scotch Egg starter was as tasty a thing as you might wish. Who knew one could do a Scotch Egg like that? The combination of a gooey egg center surrounded by white pudding and breading was...delicious. The steak was very good and the Lemon Meringue Baked Alaska pie was as good as I've ever eaten. The service was equally good and the wine also very good. Excellent value too.More

We stayed at Zuni Hotel from Friday 2nd until Monday 5th February. Originally a theatre, it is now a beautifully appointed hotel in the centre of the town, literally 5 minutes walk from the main shopping street and Kilkenny Castle. Parking is not a problem...as there is ample parking space around the back. The rooms were immaculate and the spacious rain head shower was a major plus. There is a nice cosy bar and the original theatre entrance has been preserved. It seemed to me to be a popular spot for locals to pop in for a coffee and a chat. The food in the restaurant is outstanding and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back 👍👍👍More

I've been wanting yo review Zuni for ages. I never get around to it. We have been here many times, with friends, on our own, with family, for lunch and dinner and it never disappoints. I had a surprise dinner for my husbands 60th birthday...and the staff couldn't have done more to help. Food was excellent, service was excellent. I give it 5 stars always. I would always ask for vouchers for here as it is always a treat. What can I say , one of the best in Kilkenny.More

Delicious food - our favourites were the scotch egg, the goats cheese salad, the featherblade and chocolate bomb!
